So many parts have been robbed from the unit, its almost impossible to move. It is however due to leave 26n, this friday, ( some days late) with the aid of the ERU.

That'll render it impossible to move! Well, I suppose it makes it easier to get underneath 6172 & 6173.

Question. Can the Reavell TBC 38Z compressors be used on the A60 stock or do they have to be used on the A62s only? Have they ever been mixed? Sad to see a wonderful train go this way.

I'm curious as to how the ERU managed to get it moving if so many bits and bobs have been taken out?

Probably by jacking up and putting the wheelskates on...

The second unit of the current working fleet maybe set to follow 5173. 5197, suffered a major burnout in the yard, late in February. The Depot are looking long and hard, if given the time lines involved its worth repairing. Damaged wiring along the motor car looms, and trunking is the issue.

With massive fleet withdrawal only months away it can't be economic to repair it. Better off robbing all useful parts off it and scrapping it.

They must have repaired 5197, I saw it while passing Neasden yard and it had a repainted front and it's underside was looking OK.... If anyone can tell me otherwise, please do....

I very much doubt it, its inside the cleaning shed at Neasden, havin all its door and windows made safe, ready for its scrap run to Ruislip depot. ;D
