Ey up, Solidbond, you've got some competition now! Not really - they don't cover Ealing Broadway or any Westbound trips or depots ;D

If this new DVD is anything like their past efforts it'll be full of camera wobble, Rob Curling waffling on and claptrap.

Hmm, some film crew was at Hammersmith yesterday, the Piccadilly and District line part, with a LU supervisor or something. No idea what htey were doing or who they were, but it looked professional so maybe a new Piccadilly one coming soon

Incidentally, this looks like an interesting DVD as it incidentally covers many lines. Incidentally, Rob Curling will probarbly drive you mad though, incidentally.

Hey, I actually like Rob Curling - when he speaks up he tends to say something worth hearing.

Maybe RC does say things you want to hear TOK but you are by nature a curios person. I other other hand would like the choice of being able to switch the commentary off and listen to the trains.. Thats not to say I don't like RC. He seems a nice enough fella and is doing what he's paid for. I just don't want him spoiling my enjoyment thats all.

Just had a flier from Video 125, the ELL and District DVD is now available and costs £19.95. It has the ELL, Richmond to Upminster and Wimbo to Edgware Road on it. Commentrs, incidently, by Rob Curling, the Crewe of London Underground DVDs by V125 ;D Who is the forum member in this DVD? I think we should be told

Hey, I actually like Rob Curling - when he speaks up he tends to say something worth hearing. He was very good on Newsroom South East and before that, London Plus. Better than what's on offer now.

I wonder if William Hill would take 20:1 that it's either District Dave or AlanL I would b surprised if it was Alan, as they normally use Instructor Operators for that sort of thing.

I always thought that any T/Op could volunteer for this, as long as his good buddy Mr. DMT was along to keep the cameraman from disturbing the driver. I wonder if that 20:1 on District Dave or AlanL should be expanded to a 20:1 on either District Dave, AlanL or solidbond

Normally, anything that is a bit *different*, it comes down to Instructors to look after them. Having said that, I dont think this was the case when the filmed the Picc DVD

FWIW the essence goes something as follows....
Any T/Op can be the driver but, if not an I/O the camera person would have to be chaperoned by either an I/O or DMT.
A T/Op also has the right to refuse either to appear in or to have the filming done in his cab the first place.
I add no further detail at this point...
Keep guessing lads!

I'll know soon enough, as I've ordered my copy from V125. They said that they were expecting the DVDs from the supplier at the end of this week and would post them out asap, so I suppose they'll be in the shops in a couple of weeks.

I went into Ian Allan at Waterloo on Saturday and they said they should have it stocked within the next week or two.

Yup! "Ladies and gentlemen. I'm sorry to inform you that due to my colleague's interest in MCBs, the train ahead of us has been delayed for a short period." How about this: "Yeah, I'm a bada*** DR man, look at me folks, I'm such a bada** well-trained T/Op" ;D ;D ;D ;D "Maybe if I wave my hands back and forth and look like an idiot, citysig will laugh so hard that his hand will slip and make the signal clear ahead of time..." ;D ;D ;D ;D
