I've just reserved my copy from Motor Books which I'll pick up before the meet on Saturday morning. If I walk round the Met bar with it poking out of my pocket I'll be bound to find the other members!!!

My copy arrived in the mail today just as I was hanging out the washing appropriately enough. In my opinion it's worth every penny, bearing in mind I got it at the early bird price! Oh by the way, nice driving there Dave,I hope they give you a free copy

How come the image intensifing camera from 1989 (Metropolitan and District) is actually better quality to watch than the ELL/District from this year? I'd have thought in 16 years technology would have remedied the problem.

While I was home sick the other day I put on this good 'ole ELL & District DVD again and aside from noticing it has 'bonus' footage at Earls Court (Yay yay, feels like I'm really there ) it got me thinking whether the driver of the HSK - OLY train is our good friend AlanL? Care to comment mate, or am I just making summat' outta nuffin'?

Best moment i like is when train stops just outside west ken. Dave looks at the camera and his watch, the look on his face, and the lovely mr curling says inevitably delays occur, or was it incidentally etc etc!!!!

Its a great place. some people say go to waterloo. I go to lambeth north, turn right out of station, along the main road, turn right into lower marsh [which has a street market ] and its at the top on the right hand side. there is a greggs opposite so you can have a steak bake as well!!!.

You could also (if you're ever down in Cardiff!! ) go to the Ian Allan there It's MUCH bigger than the one in Waterloo, but it (somewhat ineveitably) doesn't have many tube DVD / DEVs in stock, unfortunately. They did have, however, track plans for London suburban services, the tube, and DLR (IIRC). I am rueing the fact that I didnt buy them now

I've watched the East London. Mr C mentions that word TWICE before we've even got to Turnham Green! He starts off by saying it just before Surrey Quays...
It's only just dawned on me that our humble leader is master of a D78 thats been refurbed...

I am sure an unrefurbed example was used, or is the vodka talking? ;D

No. pretty sure its a refurb, somewhere around South Ken, you can just hear the DVA, and at one station along the UPM line, you see him press the open no 1 side doors. Can't remember exactly which station it was at.

How please, Is turnham Green on the east london? I don´t think so, why would he be making a PA at earls Court saying you can change for the District services to Edgware Road and wimbledon?

Must have been filmed on two Three, If you are corect that he changed trains at Earls Court... Well, here are instructions. 1. Put DVD in DVD player 2. Fast Forward to Station "Hornchurch" 3. Look at Mirror 4. See that there is a train being reflected with a red front and otherwise grey, and that it is the train that Dave is driving

Ok, I have now checked again and you can see from the Plat Mirrors that it is a non-refurb at:
- Stamford Brook - Earls Court - South Ken - Cannon St - Bromley By Bow - West Ham - Upney - Hornchurch - Upminster
