I asked about filming the Gobby Oak - Barking as part of the North London line, request fell on deaf ears...

Funny, so did I Artery! ;D
Go on the V125 messageboards, its a link off their main site, they say an updated version of the Central is quite possible. Thats the thing with V125, say they wont do a certain route, then change their mind.

Seems strange they do that...
Watford DC will be covered, at least as far as H&W, by the forthcoming release of the Lakerboo DEV, with, so they say the W&C...

Should be an Autumn release. They said they are not planning to do the Victoria line, as it will hardly pay for itself! 225 Studios and Runfurrow have done the NLL as well as the other Silverlink routes.

On the Video 125, it was 3rd Richmond to Acton Ctl, then 25kv to Camden Road.

Well Acton-Camden was wired in 1996, Runfurrow did theirs in 1997 [When it was still North London Railways] and 225 done it in 1999-2000 I think. So both use AC on that stretch, then 750V DC from Camden Road.

why don't you hear the driver speak or sometimes they don't say his/her name why is that?

why don't you hear the driver speak or sometimes they don't say his/her name why is that? Could be the preference of the particular operating company, sharing of information, data protection of staff, that sort of thing.

I agree with you - I've gone for option B, like I've suggested in a previous post here.

Received this video on Monday and i am astounded at the quality for 1950-1970 images. I suppose it helps being on 35mm. The underground section is short but there is a lovely shot of the R49 ex works with its red band. £18 well spent IMHO. I watched it the first time with commentary to find out the history and where the locations were, but next viewing will be commentary off.

Just to remind everyone, the Eurostar DVD is being withdrawn from sale at the end of the month, V125 will be doing Brussels-St Pancras next year. The withdrawal was part of the agreement when it was filmed. I would imagine Eurostar dont want their trains to be associated with commuter lines and DC power.
The CTRL is much higher profile.

Oh yes, find myself humming along to the music on that one at times... Quite like the Jubbly cab ride music also... There's also an audio CD you can buy that also has the music themes on...

Sounds like the compressor is about to give up!
