On The Vic DEV, as the train comes to a stand at Stockwell, the T/op appears to give the ATO some "assistance" with the emergency brake, presumably to prevent an overrun. Is this common, and what is the cause?

I don't know how common that is, but it probably isn't that unusual, as I've seen two different YouTube videos of that happening. I think it is to stop an overrun happening, but I don't know why they have to do that.

I was on a Viccy train recently, and the T/op had to emergency brake a few times - when this happens the DVA doesn't work properly until the next station...

On The Vic DEV, as the train comes to a stand at Stockwell, the T/op appears to give the ATO some "assistance" with the emergency brake, presumably to prevent an overrun. Is this common, and what is the cause? It used to be quite common because the braking system on the 67TS is not sophisticated enough to get the accurate stop required to position the train exactly in line with the platform CCTV monitors. The original monitors were designed to make the T/O get up and look out at the monitor on the back wall of the platform. This allowed some "float" in where the train stopped - it was +/- 6 feet IIRC. Now the monitors are on the platform edge and they need +/- 18 inches to get a decent visual. The T/Os used the emergency brake to get the more accurate stop. Recently, a modified ATO controller has been put in the trains to improve the braking rate and to get a more accurate stop. I monitored progress during the early weeks of the conversion programme and the use of the emergency brake fell dramatically. I understand the conversion programe is now complete.

Eurostar [Brussels-St Pancras] is provisionally due late September/early October, it will be 2 hours long, and will be £19.53 on DVD, and on Blu ray for £23.44.

Does anyone know if there is interest in Video 125 filming the WLL/ELLX/GOBLIN and other London orbital routes? Or are they too short/boring/uninteresting for filming?

Does anyone know if there is interest in Video 125 filming the WLL/ELLX/GOBLIN and other London orbital routes? Or are they too short/boring/uninteresting for filming? To quote Peter Middleton himself, "We have over five years of filming on the current wish list, that is if all routes on it are filmed!" So, I suspect of these routes were to be filmed, it will not be until 2015 at the earliest! The east london line would of course be a re-film. I do know that Video 125 did have a contract with Eurostar, whcih meant they were going to re-film the route when the line became HS1. Whether a similar contract was also signed with TfL for the East London Line, I don't know!

Just out of curiosity, which Video 125 production do people think has the best soundtrack? I rather like the music on the Met Main DVD...

If it's the same as on the old Metropolitan Main Line VHS then I agree, this was also the music used for Metropolitan and District and I hoped they were going to re-use it on East London & District as I think it fits the SSL well, the alternative they used isn't too bad though. The music used on the GWML series: "Holiday Suite" by Simon May is also quite good.

The WLL and the Goblin have already been filmed as driver eye view films albeit by a separate company. I have the DVD of the goblin. They filmed it running from Gos. oak to barking. Theres background music or commentary at all.

Hmm, best soundtrack... Have to say I do like the Met Main Line... Also the Piccy and Jubbly sound good, the latter is nice and funky.
Just been watching the Marsh Link one, really thing Johnathan Kydd voice is well suited to this one, nice and calming. Like the speed run to, and the running commentary provided by the driver!
Shall watch C2C later!

Just to add the latest, the Central will be re-filmed next year. Lisbon Trams is coming out in a week [or two if you want it in HD]. Then hopefully it will Manchester Airport-Liverpool after that.

Manchester Airport-Liverpool is now out. This is the latest release, should be out this or next week. www.video125.co.uk/acatalog/Isle_of_Wight.html#a23Early next year will be a new Irish one, Waterford-Galway. Also next year we will also be treated to Strasbourg-Paris and a new re-shoot of the Central line. This time round, the whole line will be covered, and it will go from East-West.

Recently saw the L&M. Nicely done. Recommended. (But I like all their stuff, though.)
