Does it go any faster than the Central does?

It would be cool to see how fast it goes between the stations, but maybe you're right...[/quote]your not wrong at all it would be quite good to film it before the 67 ts go I guess they could film up to northumberland park too that would be fun but it's just that there's not much outside bits that's all

Eh - IMO, the Central should be filmed (but I'm biased ) - but the bias aside, it's just a lot more interesting with decent ATO, decent trains (arguably!), and picturesque bits of line - the WRUI branch, and down to Epping in the summer, 'tis lovely looking. Also, they've got branches and what-have-yas, which are intruiging, as opposed to just a line that's all in tube tunnel, and with all stations that pretty much look the same - with the only outside bit being a short stint to Northumberland Pk depot.

Perhaps they could just do a DVD titled: 'The underground bits we have missed' and market that. Theres at least 45 minutes worth of material to be had off the Central!

Does it go any faster than the Central does? But we don't have the Central line, well, we do, just not ATO so it's rather like any other line. I want to see how fast the trains enter the stations! If I had to chose, i'd rather have a new Central line vid over the Victoria.

The Swanage one is out next week.
Due to a problem with the steam loco, the IOW wont be done until next year, so a class 171 DEV from Brighton-Ashford is being done instead [permission to film has already been granted].

Given that Brighton - Ashford is a scheduled 1hr 50 mins, I guess there won't be much cut out of it, bar the 8 minute wait at Eastbourne?
Great!
*feels most satisfied after suggesting this route should be filmed*

*feels most satisfied after suggesting this route should be filmed* So do I! Couldn't be any better, now that there is even more being filmed than originally expected Is this service typically operated by a class 171?

Aye, it is! Solely 171's now!
Especially that 16.30 or 17.30 Ex Brighton... Very busy all the way to Polegate and Eastbourne.

Not as simple as that... The Uckfield line has 4 car 171's, but Ashford - Brighton has 2 car units... they tried putting in the extra cars and the onboard computer threw a tantrum... 4 car trains will be used in the Summer TT, so I'm told... They can't increase the service frequency along Ashford - Brighton because of the single track sections...

are there not enough to couple 2 units together for the time being during peak hours?

Apparently not, theres only ONE spare unit for the area, and Southern don't want to have any more... They reluctantly got one of the ex SWT sets. Strangely, all the 4 car 171 stopping boards were put up at Ashford; they now look like they won't need to be used.
But anyway... back on topic, I hope they do the East Coastway to Pompey soon after, plus the Bognor - Three Bridges line needs doing...

An interesting run that be... one to add to their wishlist, perhaps they could couple it with Sittingbourne - Sheerness or even North Kent through Gravesend and either route 1 through Woolwich, route 2 through Sidcup or route 3 through Eltham. Either way, they need more 3rd Rail routes!

Yeah Paris -Marseille is just field after field....not interesting at all. Personally, I think that Paris-Marseille is the best of all their Driver’s Eye View productions - it rubs the salt in to how awful our railway is compared to the French high-speed network. I have had the chance to travel on their Duplex trainsets, lets just say the excitement of an HST/225/Pendolino at 125mph is lost once you experience one of these awesome machines. Some of the infrastructure on their network is amazing, the bridges for example - eat your heart out Forth Bridge!

It's one think with SNCF knowing about railways - take a look at Deutsche Bahn... and yes, I have asked for Peter Middleton to do a DEV on that network! ;D

anyway have they done a dev of strood to paddock wood? I don't think V125 have done Strood - Paddock Wood, but Locomaster Profiles have done Hoo Junction - Strood - Paddock Wood - East Peckham. It is called 'Medway Crompton' and is filmed from 33 030 on a p/way train. I have it on VHS, it's not bad.

Dunno whether it's been mentioned before but on Vid125's website you can now see the results of the survey they did lately. Surprisingly the Central re-shot was on top within the Underground category with 26.5%. The DLR follows on with 20.6% (someone must have cheated there ;D Although, if nicely done, it surely would be a great addition to the series). Let's see if they take the customer's wishes seriously

V125 now have a new forum [you have to register to post comments] The Derry-Belfast film will be the first to be filmed, taking place this month. It is planned for it to be released in August. The Brighton-Ashford one will be next. All films will now be in widescreen format.
All productions are now going to be filmed in high defintition [HD], although they will be released in standard defintion format [archiving for the future], the exception is the new Eurostar film [Brussels-St Pancras] which will be in HD [Blu ray]
That will look great on my 50" Plasma, and played through my PS3! ;D

A Victoria Line DVD would be great with the 67s too! They could also film the run into (upto!) Northumberland Park depot!

Do it when both 67TS and 09TS are in service. It might make it more interesting (if the Victoria line can be interesting)!

V125 have said that IF they do the Victoria, it will be on the new stock.

If you want a driver's eye view DVD of 67/72TS, then there is the Bakerloo one.
