I'm hoping to go to Shoreditch tomorrow, if I can convince me dad to go (as he's coming as well ! ) Ahh sod it - I could go off by meself....... Do all trains terminate at Shoreditch during the week? Or does it depend on peak / off-peak? EDIT: Have just seen that Shoreditch is only open 7:30 - 10:30am and 3:30 - 7:30pm (that closing time correct?) during the week, so I guess that answers me own question

According to tfl, the first train into Shoreditch is just before 0700. That'll do for me!

Spent the best part of a hour at Shoreditch yesterday afternoon after work. I've got some cracking photos that I'm going to make available later in the week!!! That was my FIRST and last visit to the station on Brick Lane - I can't be there on the 9th June as I'll be returning from Prague Watch this space

I spent about 15 minutes there this afternoon - and the sun came out specially for me. It was also my first and almost certainly last visit, as I don't know when I'm next in London. I wasn't even meant to be there today (computer problems at work = no possibility of doing work = unexpected day off = trip to London!)
I've got some photos, but I haven't downloaded them yet to see what they are like. I will make them available online, but I'm not promising when!

Well, I'm sure that Shoreditch's single Oyster reader will be very pleased to accomodate all the hundreds of people that want to go there for the final day! Did someone mention a special somewhere? Any chance of the details since its only 5 days before it closes? Much obliged

Try and get a ticket to Shoreditch, before it is erased from the Ticketing system database!

Good point. Do tube tickets show starting place or destination?

tube tickets show destination on the ticket. I'm thinking of getting one at Whitechapel, just for posterity.

What happens to everything that's to be demolished? Does most of it just get crushed, or do they allow anyone with a spanner (and probably an HSE disclaimer) to come along and take bits? Does anyone know the likely vintage of the (cast-iron?) bollard outside Shoreditch in this picture? i33.photobucket.com/albums/d62/CJW04/Shoreditch/Shoreditch16.jpg

The bollard was there from the pics I took on the 30th May. Around it are clusterd the tramps, of which a few have already mentioned. I would upload a couple, but have no clue how to do this:(

Thankyou:) I'm rather pleased that they came out as well as they did since I only used my camera phone. I'm also glad that I got to see Shoreditch one last time before it closes; A truely unique backwater of London Transport.

Unless summat major happens, I'll be there around 15.45 - 16.00 tomorrow. I hope the weather is good, cos I will be taking a few photos. I bet the bloke in the Ticket Office is getting fed up of appearing in all these photos. I also think that those who count the revenue/analyse ticket sales will be surprised at the amount of tickets issued at/to this formerly quiet backwater!

Yo guys,
Meeting up with Seth and Chris tomorow for a final run! Heres a question though guys, how much will a platform ticket cost me and will it display Shoreditch??
Also i'll think i'll take my compact as well tomorow, seeing as Shoreditch isn't the best of places nor is the ELL.
Cheers James

I'm afraid they do! If you get one at Shoreditch, it will have shoreditch printed on it. As far as I know platform tickets cost 40p, and you can stay on the platform for up to 70 minutes. You used to be able to get them sometimes off the machines, but now have to purchased from the ticket office.

Is Shoreditch shown on the current edition of the free pocket maps? If so is it marked that it will be closed after tomorrow?
