First 2009 TS is due out from NPD this evening SS - W'stow. Ist time out of NPD. Would I be right in saying it would be run slowly for gauging purposes?

LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

I presume this will be running manual operation? Train 1 is not capable of ATO (DTGR) operation.

There was a small piece on the new train on ITV's London Tonight a few minutes ago. It was interesting to see the train in action. Part of the train looks like it's ready to go, while other parts are nowhere near finished. Nice detail about how they had to clean the tunnel of tons of dead skin and hair before the cooling system could be used.

here's some vids of them on test I am going to have to teach the lovely Tamzin about our Rolling Stock me thinks ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D She said that the Victoria line stock is the oldest in use. When in fact it is the Mighty A Stock - no object on the track too big! ;D

Now with the arrival and testing of the 2009 stock. It does seem virtually quiet with regards to it's progress.
Does anybody have new pictures or news of it's progress ?

Train 1 is continuing to undergo tests and apart from one minor set back everything is going according to plan, apparently. Train 2 has been built with one half on the Derby test track and the other in the lab for testing. Thats about it!

We were watching it on the cctv - it seems to have pretty fast acceleration.

I went to the Victoria Line Open Day for wannabe-drivers today, and we got to go inside the train, looked rather swish really! There was a chap from higher up along with us taking some pictures, dunno if/when they'll be available for public (or company) consumption.

Not I! I'm getting stuck into 'S' Stock right now and have handed over the Vic line stuff to a couple of my colleagues.

Was looking at Metromess's web site last night, apparently only the 2 pre production trains of 09TS are going to be delivered by road, the rest will be delivered by National Rail to Ruislip Depot then run under their own power to Northumberland Pk via Met & Picc lines. There's supposed to be test runs in July/August of a 67TS on the Picc with polystyrene bits added on to make the gauge of a 09TS to see if it can be done.

While we were being shown round we were told the Picc tubes where just slightly too small - I don't know if that predates your information or not, though.

It is true, Metrodebt are hoping to be able to deliver the main fleet by rail, provided this polystyrene test run proves to be a success. For staff that are interested, the details (TT Notice etc) are available on the LU Intranet.

For staff that are interested, the details (TT Notice etc) are available on the LU Intranet. It has been running around at close of traffic over the past few nights - very slowly!. It's in the EWSA (and cancellations/alerations in the Eng Notice). The 67Stock with the polystyrene is now back at NPK depot.

I was just thinking, on reflection, that I had missed something and that the 09TS was too large for the Picc tunnels, so the Finsbury Park #-over would be effectively redundant as stock transfers would be by road (if ever). Now it appears that somehow the new stock can be sueezed through? Or at least it is thought that it might get through.

Well, it could be that the narrowest parts of the Picc are not on the route they need for this specific stock transfer. With some luck it may just work.

The bendy part around South Ken could be a problem. Also the tight bend approaching Holborn EB.

If (minor) works are needed, how would the PPP process work for getting these done? As the Victoria Line and its trains are maintained by Metronet BCV and the Piccadilly Line is maintained by Tube Lines, would the former organisation have to contract and pay the latter to do the work or does it have to go through LU somehow?
