Saturday T2 was a D, starting from Barking sidings. However, the train that stables there on a Friday (T121) was an S. Did something get changed over at some point? Afternoon runouts from ECom and Upminster are usually different from the AM, on Friday PM: T101 21313/14, T102 21397/98, T103 21379/80, T104 21465/66, T107 21469/70, T110 7108+7033, T121 7508+7070 , T122 21499/50, T123 7032+7057, T124 21519/20, T125 7046+7503, T126 21307/08.

Have there been no D stock withdrawals in the last 2 weeks?
How many S7'a are available for District line service? Must surely be enough to run the whole off peak and weekend service by now?

Regarding the D stock remaining, how long could they go on for before mileage becomes an issue?

Regarding the D stock remaining, how long could they go on for before mileage becomes an issue? I don't know the answer - someone on here probably does, but may not be allowed to say. I would assume some are closer to their maximum than others, simply because they were not all overhauled at the same time What was the normal period between overhauls, and how long is it since overhauls stopped? Is it actually mileage based, or hours in traffic?

15 out of 16 D stock remaining
I overheard a conversation between some drivers at Earls Court which seemed to suggest that at some point before the end of August, the remaining D's will only be used to cover when an S isn't available. Not sure whether it's a fact or hearsay. But maybe the end of the D's is closer than we think!
Was quite funny when one of the drivers waiting to pick up his train moaned (in a light hearted way) when his train was a D!

If more S stock can be kept at Hammersmith, there is less pressure on space at Upminster/Ealing for the D stock.

More roads available at Hammersmith from late August Not sure what significance this has for the D stock? Ability to move more S stocks out of District depots, allowing the last conversions for S stock to take place, which would in turn mean that D stocks would suddenly find themselves without a home in London?

Ability to move more S stocks out of District depots, allowing the last conversions for S stock to take place, which would in turn mean that D stocks would suddenly find themselves without a home in London? Not sure why they would want to move S stocks out of District depots. There can't be a space issue, otherwise they wouldn't be holding onto 16 D stocks at the moment. The sidings at Hammersmith will only be really useful when the upgraded services run, which won't be until after resignalling.

Not all tracks within the depots can take S stock.
They are being modified/re-aligned as D stock departs.
The extra roads at Hammersmith will help the process.

Due to signalling problems at South Kensington yesterday around 12.15, T63 7046+7503 was sent directly to High St Kensington pfm.2 then onwards to Wimbledon. This meant the train was turned for the rest of the day, stabling as T55 in Ealing Common depot.
7503+7046 started today as T106 and was sent from Ealing Broadway to High Street Kensington pfm.2 at 07.25 then direct to Gloucester Road then onto Mansion House bay.

I'm infrequently in London these days and even less frequently on the District. So it was some excitement that I managed to catch a D stock from Earl's Court to South Ken late yesterday morning, travelling in 7108. Possibly my last trip on one.

Was I imagining seeing passengers on it?

The number of D stock in service at weekends is actually increasing! A month ago, there were only 7 D's in service on a Saturday.
