I fell onto 7007+7018 working EB through South Ken about 8:00 this morning - didn't get a chance to note the duty.

Right then, today's p.m. D service ,again, different to previous days. If one thing is consistant with the D stock "finalities" it is the inconsistancy of the daily set workings. Today, for example, not one train ex-Upminster Depot in the afternoon run-out. So then...... 16 - 7046+7503 36 - 7095+7012 06 - 7533+7016 24 - 7018+7007....until about 17 30 when it disappeared off the radar for a while,to re-emerge later, after reform as..... 02, for single journey to Upminster Dt (along with 06 & 16 later on).

Intentionally? Or did someone do Dave's trick and accept a wrong signal?

They wanted to add a stamp in the D stocks passport before it goes up north
It was in error and classed as a SPAD

I wondered what was going on after 5 ish onwards, searching for 24 on Connect to get the other unit number, it showed radio areas NEN , ALP,PKR then back to NEN when i next looked , and finally ECM ! Then 24 became an S stock and 02 the D ! Didnt have time to investigate what I assumed to be an error,as was busy with my own trains at Upminster.....although it did make me think back to last year's trip to Amersham !

T14 now seems to have reformed to T41. T105 formed 7526+7037. And T5 went defective at Kew Gardens earlier, and was replaced by an S7. So only T41, 61 and 105 out for the evening peak.

Only 2 D stock running in the p.m. period today : T102 : 7503+7046 (stabled Upminster 22-10) , and T107 : 7016+7533 (stabled Upminster 21-50). 7007+7018 shunted within Upminster Depot via the train wash, but didnt enter service. 7032/7012/7057 at Ealing Common Depot all had live Connect radio during the period, but no further details. K. Just checked notes for 7/2/17: 7007+7018 on T102 terminated Earls Court WB at 0915 (a bit unusual in my experience). Not sure how the reversing manoeuvre works there, but it was back in the EB platform, still on T102, and departed in service at 0930.

EC11 rt2 (plat 2 starter) clears train moves up to EC13 driver changes end and the reverses via shunt signal EC18 into the W/B platform 3 also known as Earls Court yard

EC11 rt2 (plat 2 starter) clears train moves up to EC13 driver changes end and the reverses via shunt signal EC18 into the W/B platform 3 also known as Earls Court yard Surely it would be easier just to reverse off the WB platform towards Gloucester Road? Why would they shunt it back to the EB platform?

I'd be surprised if it was anything major enough to withdraw it,

The front unit had its motors cut out and just because they have been replaced recently doesn't mean they wasn't defective
