It looked like 5022 sneaking out from Neasden to Wembley Park via the underpass just now running as 717... Does that mean scrap runs have resumed?

The filming has been completed on the railtour train: the windows have been done so everyone can see out through the scratches, the red end that was looking tired has been renewed, and a little bit of money's been found to repair paintwork on the worst of the saloon doors. Due to being paranoid about attracting unwanted attention from vandals I'm not declaring the units on here. But they look great! If the cleaning team can finish off their work to the same standard as what they've done so far then the final images of A-stock in service will be of a fleet that's been looked after with pride by Neasden!

Nearly The End of the A Stock "Ride the Snake very apt" XF Nigel, I forever associate "The End" by The Doors with "Apocalypse Now". With the striking images of that film in mind, wouldn't it be a far nobler death for the remaining A Stock to be destroyed in a napalm inferno delivered by supersonic fighter-bombers rather than the mincing machine in a rainy breakers yard they are currently getting?

Am I very mistaken, or where there two A stocks in the Aldgate bays at about 1400 today?

Thanks very much for the info; makes me wonder though why they bothered rearranging 5022/5023-5090/5091 an 5094/5095-5102/5103, if these were going to be the next two scrap trains anyway.
So which pair of units are coming out to play on Wednesday? and presumably the other pair will do Saturday's run?
Best Wishes to all
Green Lion.

Hung around Baker Street from 15:00 to 16:00 today, but no sign of any A's. Made a trip specially for it, too. Did I get something wrong? Bit new to all this...

There are no A stock trains expected out until Wednesday and Saturday. The only A stock is at Northwood Oh. So would that mean they'd be out and about on Wednesday and Saturday at the times posted by 21146?

That's just the Saturday one? In which case, I guess I'll try again on Wednesday using the aforementioned times. Hopefully this time I'll be able to catch one.

My website article makes it clear that it will be the last run at regular fares, i.e. Oyster and Travelcards will be accepted. However, do check the fares as the service will go as far as Zone 9.

Sounds great! Hopefully before then I'll be able to get my Oyster refund for that blasted "incomplete journey" I was slapped with today. Otherwise I'll end up having to use a mate's card...

Got a bl***y meeting after school. However, I will be able to get to Liverpool Street around 5.45pm, so will be able to do the last run to Watford then back to Harrow.
I do hope that the train will be carrying headboards!

Hi all, first time poster and big A stock fan. I, too, intend to join the train for the last run - idea is to be at Aldgate for its 18:01 arrival.
Here's my question - granted a trouble-free day and the Met runs well, no signal failures or whatever, how likely is it to run to time?

Here's my question - granted a trouble-free day and the Met runs well, no signal failures or whatever, how likely is it to run to time? They will try their utmost to keep it to the timetabled run. Obviously, if there ends up being a service suspension, it will be forced off its timetabled path although I daresay they will try to get it back on time ASAP. I'll be checking on here during the day as I'm sure people will post if there are any changes to its timings - PLEASE FOLKS!

Got the day off work and intend to spend the entire day photographing the last A stock on each leg of the diagram. Can't really believe it's the end though...
