All S stock on Monday 13th August. And that's probably how it's going to be from now on!. Can't see the remaining few A Stock coming back into passenger service now and I guess train 717 will start running again sometime in early September. Ah well! it was brilliant fun while it lasted!. Best Wishes Green Lion.

Why?
Throughout the Olympics they've managed without them and now two are pressed into service.
Put another way, why are two S-stock less in service? Problem with them?

May as well run them while they have them.

May as well run them while they have them. I am not complaining but put another way... why have them now and if they need them now then why get rid of them at all without further replacement. Seems rather odd.

I posted on the last A stock thread the reason why, but can someone tell me if these are all day runners, and if so, why.

If they are all day runners and these trains are still running on the same formations, the timetable shows that T403 is due to depart Baker Street (ex Aldgate) for Chesham at 16:15.
T446 is the Baker Street – Uxbridge service at 16:11.

What with all the kerfuffle about thirty-odd S8s having to go back to their manufacturers, I suppose some were being prepped today? I'll leave that for either bentley or undergrouddriver to fill you in on.

This seems to confirm that the corporate mentaility was working in overdrive to ensure that the image of a modern underground was not marred to Olympic visitors.

Quick phone call at 13:30 says the units and trains are still the same. Thought I'd check as always a risk of reforms (particularly with step back at Aldgate in AM peak) putting the stock on a different working, or indeed if the depot had resourced some S stock to swap over with................ But no, state of play same as that this morning ;D

So great to hear that my prediction was totally wrong and at least half of the remaining fleet have been let out to play once more today. I certainly hope to get another ride on them before they're consigned to history.
Best Wishes
Green Lion.

Ok, saw them go by from the bridge one behind the other.
However, I have to report that there was a rather odd noise coming from the rear of the Uxbridge train.

403 is between Chesham and Chalfont heading s/b according to that website I found. I'll see anyone on it at Harrow if I make it.
