403 is between Chesham and Chalfont heading s/b according to that website I found. I'll see anyone on it at Harrow if I make it. That should be NB at 17:05.

403 has turned into a semi fast Watford at Baker Street, with 446 now a fast Chesham

Looks like the poor driver is desperately trying to escape. Camera shy.

Quite the reverse, on its return he asked for a copy of the photo to be emailed to him as a souvineer. Good show! ;D Anyway, it was nice to meet up with an old friend (in the case of 446 on the 20:41 Baker Street - Uxbridge) last night, and indeed as the train clattered off into the sunset after I had alighted it was very poignant. I just wish I'd remembered my camera but watching 5034 going north seemed like one of those moments I'll never forget (rather like when I rode on a 1959 stock from Morden to Waterloo back in 1999, the last time I'd ever get to ride on one of these - not saying it'll definitely be the same with the A stock, but it struck a chord).......... Anyway, today is less exciting than yesterday, seems it's back to normal, and an all S8 stock service is out

403 has turned into a semi fast Watford at Baker Street, with 446 now a fast Chesham Yep, that's what they're timetabled to do. During the daytime off-peak the trains stay on the routes they're numbered for (for example 401 - 406 stay on Aldgate - Chesham), but in the peaks anything can happen and Mon to Fri before and after the peaks tend to be pretty jumbled up too. Saturdays and Sundays however, a train will (mainly) stay on it's set route all day

We were in the front car so could not see it in the platform

Also on 5091 just departed Chesham Seems we were on the same train too! I skipped work and joined car 6090 at HOH. At Chesham I changed carrages to 5090 whereupon some chap boarded and complained about the lack of air conditioning. I decided not to reply. Stayed with the train to Baker Street - shame about the lack of TO announcements between Chesham - HOH. But I suspect that's the result of TO getting used to S stocks doing it for them. The TO south of HOH was more informative. At Baker Street (P1) I noticed the other set arrive on platform 2 destined for Watford. Two A stocks in service side by side. How lucky was that. Remained on the train to North Harrow where I alighted. Filmed it on my camera phone as it disappeared in to the sunset. IMO the advantage about this, was that unlike a tour - this train was in normal passenger service - doing exactly what they are designed to do. Very poignant. Dean

The only hope we have is if one of the one return-trip 47x trains run A Stock. Unlikely however.

Well, up until yesterday many people (including me) didn't think A stock were putting in much of an appearance anymore, but yesterday shows there is hope As for which set numbers, could be anything, though I would suspect it'll be workings which start and finish at Neasden (where the four remaining A stock trains spend their time). Yesterday was a big surprise, as there hadn't been a passenger A stock trip since just before the Olympics (literally, it was a rush hour train the morning of the opening ceremony)!

Don't think so, so far. Monday's appearance was due to a number of faults with the S Stock building up over the weekend. Shall we watch this weekend and next Monday morning? Bet our luck won't run twice

Hi Everyone,
I have just joined the group- pretty much for my love of the A stock! On Monday I saw A stock in service between Eastcote and Rayners Lane, approx 1.45 pm. I do not have any other details as I was walking around a park and was about 100 feet away!
My partner works for TFL and has just emailed me this internal buletin. Hope it is of use to you guys!
"The last A stock rail tour will take place on 29 September 2012.
The tickets will go on sale via the LT museum website on Monday 3 September. Tickets will be priced at: £40 for Adults
£15 for children (please note: under 11s are not permitted due to the lack of toilet breaks in the afternoon)
This will be a ‘celebratory’ trip, with the chance to purchase memorabilia and talk trains with other enthusiasts.
The plan is to operate this A stock train on the line during the few days prior to this last outing, just to make sure everything is working well for the big event. Further details on this to follow."
Regards to all,
Jason

£40!!!! I dont know how much these things costs but that sounds really really expensive! I was actually looking at going to this, it would have been my first forray into the world of rail tours, last day services etc etc. Unfortunately I cant justify spending that amount of money on it. Big shame.

Big shame. I shall most definitely be paying my £40. It will be interesting to see how many turn up, I suspect many on this forum, including those who have moaned abut the price. As I said earlier, had the cost been that of a travel card the train would be packed, not good news for me or those poor souls on the Chesham service train who will have change onto ours at Chalfont.
