Both 5227/5074, then 5191/5072 are set to go very soon. Thank you very much for that information

Will they wait until more S stock comes down or will they go before that?
Are they still in service?

Does anyone notice one set of doors were open on 6176 or 6177 during the last week?

Are they still in service? Certainly 5191 and 5227 were in service yesterday 05/11. I'm sure we'll find none that unless a defect intervenes, all four units will remain in service until S8 deliveries re-commence which by the sounds of it, may not be too far away.

Great news! How much longer will this 'no scrap' go on for? Any dates/predictions? Despite the temporary halt in S8 deliveries, trains will still be coming off Bombardier's production line and still undergoing route mileage accumulation on the Old Dalby Test Track. Given that there are already outstanding units to be delivered (e.g missing 2102x/3x/4x numbered units) let alone the higher numbered units that will have been made ready for delivery, I wouldn't be surprised to see the rate of S8 deliveries increased soon after deliveries resume. As we know, the Northwood 'A' Stock disposal process is very slick now and could no doubt accommodate a similar increase in the rate of 'A' Stock disposals.

21 Double ended units, and you will see at least 19 may be 20 in service as 17 of them are equipped to spay de-icing fluid.

Good Point but Neasden can't accommadate faster deliveries at the moment as half the main maintenance shed is out of action and roads 52 to 73 which hold 2 trains still have to stable 21 Jubilee trains which leave only (including the new north shed roads 30-36) space for 30 Met trains to stable. There are at present 32.5 taking into account a couple in the maintenance shed.

Units 5056, 5060, 5062, 5232 and 5088-5108 and 5112-5122 are all passenger trains with 5234 forming the RAT.

Is there any scrap this week? Well, technically there is some scrap this week. Some of it is being fixed** and some of it is still running in service **A year ago I never thought I'd make such a negative quip. Anyone got Mr Deadman's phone number ;D

Shall we not go down that road again - being repaired? What is happening?

All quite on the western front. They really cannot dump anymore A's until the next s comes down.

And the next S won't come down until confidence is rebuilt in the stock.
2 more with the same defect out of service over the last 2 days. The defect "appears" to be caused by the track quality on the Met. I say "appears" as I'm not on the project and I am not an engineer.

Did another S stock go bang? My mum said that her train had its desto changed to Wembley Park due to a defect.

Your mum was more than likely on S-stock Train 422, which was indeed 1 of the 2 repeated faults. I wouldn't say the train went bang though. More of a whine and squeak for a bit, then a cry for help from the onboard computer

Ahh I see, what are the actual faults, or is it confidential?
A stock wins again *runs*

I'm afraid I've given some clues, but as far as I'm concerned I'm not about to divulge the actual fault(s). As I said, I'm neither an engineer nor on the project team For now though, the A-stock has won a bit of a reprieve, being used to the environment in which it operates, and not failing as a result of it.

I remember reading in an article that the Old Dalby test track was used for S stock testing as the track was in poor condition and similar to the Met and SSL! Clearly it wasn't that bad!

At least this temporary halt in A stock withdrawals should ensure that a couple of four-car sets are available for the Chesham shuttles in January. I presume they're still 'on'?
