5205 was down as being "wanted back in depot for scrap prep" on our sheets last night. So that looks like half of the next train. Thank you very much for this advice MetControl. Undoubtedly you're right as a pattern has emerged over the last four weeks whereby units for Monday's scrap train have largely been pulled from traffic on either the previous Tuesday or Wednesday in order to allow a couple of days for them to be stipped as required. As for the other unit, I'm wondering about 5014, 5048 or 5054. All three have been uncoupled in the last couple of days. Also, 5048 is the last of the five units that was on the list posted on this site about a year ago as being the first candidates for withdrawal. There are also three doubled ended units that I have not observed in the last few days, namely 5106, 5112 and 5120. I expect we'll find that these units have been undergoing maintenance or repair. It's all very well all these A Stock Units being withdrawn but I'm wondering if we need to be getting a couple more S Stock trains into service or we'll be cancelling trains! I assume one more is being delivered tonight and given another A Stock is to leave Monday, a further S8 will turn up next week. As I passed Neasden Depot this evening, all I could see was S Stock trains. Much more can be seen on the back roads from the mainline now the old Cleaning Shed has come down. Perhaps a couple more will be in service from Monday commensurate with WTT330?

No other unit that was out and about today was down on the list, therefore leading one to believe the other unit is already within the confines of the depot. Double-ended units? A couple will be needed for the engineering work timetables discussed elsewhere, to run that shuttle thing we said we'd never run again ;D It's all very well all these A Stock Units being withdrawn but I'm wondering if we need to be getting a couple more S Stock trains into service or we'll be cancelling trains! There will be one extra train formed of S-stock from next week, with a gradual increase over the coming weeks. From September expect weekend S-stocks and further outstabling overnight. Stock availability is not currently an issue. There are other problems which may cause difficulties from next week, but the scrap-page program will not be a factor and can continue as planned...

No I can't at this point - it's nothing that mysterious though. Hopefully if things pan out (and a plan I've been asked to work on works out) then it may not be as noticeable.

5054+5211 was taken OOS on Tues AM with a defect (saw it running ety from Aldgate). 5211 was back in service y'day suggesting the problem was with 5054. I'm sure we will find, however, that 5054 is quickly sorted out and returned to service

The Northwood disposal process is obviously getting slicker or 5004 and 6004 have gone missing! All four vehicles of 5004/05 disposed of today meaning all eight cars disposed of in three days.

Just seen a mate's facebook status update and he seems to think 5000 could be the next to go. I certainly hope not.

I've just heard a further rumour saying that it's one way working to Northwood could be 4th August.

Is that right? I only ask because they were delivered to Eastleigh over 4 days with the last two arriving there today. It was the same two wagons used to deliver them at that end.

I can confirm that when I passed the site at about 1830 last night, there was no A Stock in there. Like you, I was expecting to see two cars still in there which would have left this morning.

It's all done on maintenance requirements which is not necessarily in any number order we might expect. Changes to the schedule might be if a unit goes 'dud' and it is deemed not worth returning it to traffic.

I would be grateful if anyone can confirm that the timings of T717 are unchanged arising from the introduction of WTT330.

I'm not going to make any guesses on 5205's company in No 22, it could be any unit, even 5165 for example.

I reckon they may have loaded the last two on Thursday evening in order to get an early start to Eastleigh for Friday and then knock off in time for the weekend. From what I've seen, collecting from Northwood and tipping at Eastleigh is quite quick and its only the restrictions on London rush hour road movements that means that you cant do more than one trip per day. The journey between the two locations seems to take 2.5 hours in good traffic. Quite impressive really

Plus there's the drivers' working hours to consider in doing the job.

No hints being given for next week's move on our sheets. There have been a few units this week that have caused delays and may then have "jumped" the list.
After this coming Monday, there will be a 2-week break in disposals to match up with a 2-week break in S-stock deliveries.
