21365 is Number 63, saw it leave Upminster at 1331 on a Wimbledon serve ice. Strange - train 63 reverses at Barking bay road 1341 to 1350. The time you saw it would put it right time at Barking so there must have been something deliberate going on.....

Might it be related to the fact the district had been disrupted this morning (and this afternoon as well, but that's irrelevant) - is it feasible for the train to be 'turned long' ie- run to upminster and rejoin normal timetable from barking provided the T/Op was within hours?

Yeah something did seem to be up. I boarded a Barking terminating D Stock at East Ham just after 1300, and we got held twice on the approach to Barking, before arriving in the through platform. At the time there was a D Stock showing Wimbledon in the bay. My train waited on the platform for 2-3 minutes with another train shown a minute behind, and no dispatch staff were to be seen. Suddenly the other side doors opened and announcement made that it was now a train to Upminster. The S stock came from the depot beyond Upminster, departing within a minute, and apart from my train that had just terminated, nothing else was in the bay platforms at Upminster.

There was a serious signal failure at westbound Tower Hill, and somewhere around King's Cross, this morning: I am not sure if this explains it all.

Looking at the twitter feed, it seems to have started at about 0700, and was fixed by about 1000, before going down again, and was still recovering when there was a faulty train at Edgware Road, with a good service finally coming back at about 1644. A number of long closures it looks like, so it is possible that some trains were caught up behind the second closure, where turned around and sent back east to turn around before picking up original timetable.

I saw an Upminster All Stations S Stock leaving Hornchurch today. Are those in service?

I'm a bit skeptical about that 'District line working timetable'. Are any S stock trains going from Kensington (Olympia) / Wimbledon / Richmond / Ealing Broadway to Upminster yet (not Barking then Barking sidings)? If so, any scheduled departure times would be nice too. Also what's going on with the Richmond branch? I heard last week that S stock can't run in full from Upminster n back for some reason.

There is no guarantee that trains will run as S stock each and every day, on some days it won't. AFAIK, the entire district is now cleared (along with the fast lines west of earls court)

I've seen 125 leave Upminster at the correct time in the evening peak yesterday and Today formed of S Stock. Managed to get it today. 63 also departed in the morning peak at the time advised by the WTT formed of S Stock today. I don't know off hand what time these head back from their destinations though, you'd have to look yourself.

Suggest you read higher up the thread. I did and went to Upminster around that time but nothing was there in the morning when I arrived and waited for half an hour. That's not very long - it takes nearly three hours to make the round trip from Upminster to Richmond, and there are, I understand, only two S's in service at present. So in half an hour your chances of seeing an S at Upminster are only about one in three. You will of course double your chances by visiting somewhere nearer the middle of the line (since trains are coming from both directions) or by travelling along the line rather than staying at the terminus so trains coming the other way come at you more quickly

I did post the relevant times for the first two permanent conversions, though to be fair that was three pages ago on what is now quite a lengthy thread. Those times are: Train 63 - arr 07.49, dep 08.02 Train 123 - arr 08.30, dep 08.43 Train 63 - arr 19.35, dep 19.47 That being said, the District line has suffered from several signal failures at Tower Hill this week and trains have run late, been turned short or cancelled at various times so the WTT has indeed been of little use. Information posted on this forum should always be taken with a large dose of salt - we always state that nothing is guaranteed.......yet still people question things when they don't happen as timetabled! There have been one or two unplanned extra's this week as well. These are organised on a day by day basis - sometimes at very short notice - but hopefully this will ease off as we get more of the planned D to S conversions in place. To keep the information current rather that lost 5 pages back, here is a repeat of the plan for the first 12 conversions: It is planned to have 12 D stocks replaced by S stocks between 19th January and the May timetable change. Some of these will be midday stablers (ie, out in the peaks but back to depot during the day when less trains are needed in service); those that are out all day will primarily be Ealing services. I don't know what the plan is for weekends as the information I have only relates to weekdays. It is possible that more may enter service prior to the May timetable change, but contractually the magic number is 12. The two east end training trains (753 & 754) will continue to be available in addition to the 12 shown below. The plan, which is subject to change and is therefore only a guide at best, looks like this: Train 1......19/1/15......123 (am)/124 (pm) Train 2......19/1/15......63 Train 3......26/1/15......67 Train 4......2/2/15.......62 Train 5......2/2/15.......64 Train 6......9/3/15.......125 Train 7......16/3/15......66 Train 8......16/3/15......56 Train 9......23/3/15......102 Train 10.....30/3/15......60 Train 11.....30/3/15......55 Train 12.....6/4/15.......126

Would it be a good idea to start a new topic because we are now starting a new phase of the introduction?

In the table I posted above, train 6 will be set 32 instead of 125 owing to the Mansion House reversal in the morning.

I'm hoping this wasn't realised yesterday when an S7 was put on T125 instead of T123! I am guessing that the mansion house bay will see use to the end of this timetable before no trains are timetabled to use it?

Yesterday, T125 was extended to Tower Hill as it was remembered well in time that Mansion House bay can't be used normally by S7s.

Yesterday, T125 was extended to Tower Hill as it was remembered well in time that Mansion House bay can't be used normally by S7s. I got most of my duty covered on Monday so I can do an S stock trip and my second train was T125 which was already an S stock and the spare covering me wasn't qualified so an Earls Court spare had to cover him. You couldn't make it up, lol.

I was more likely to see an S Stock beyond Barking if I was on the c2c train from West Ham to Upminster. Too bad I wasn't quite able to board the Richmond S Stock as I was going the opposite direction!

The 4th & 5th D stock to S stock conversions (set numbers 62 & 64) shown previously will not now take place next week as intended.
I'm not fully aware of the reasons why, but issues have come to a head and the powers that be have decided it would be best to postpone the conversion programme until such time as they're happy to proceed. That being said, there are two morning/evening H&C stock moves in passenger service to and from Upminster that are planned to start running 7 days a week from next week; those will still go ahead.
I have seen a plan that shows the conversions up to the 46th S stock - covering the new timetable from May 2015 - but of course this may well be revised as a result now....
