Does anyone know how close the rest of the District Line is from being cleared for S7 working?
I'm wondering whether there will be one passenger training slot from Upminster (like the West Ham - Olympia working) ahead of full introduction.

Reading Octobers modern railways there's a few bits about LU, 34tph on the Central line and further S7 Introduction but something which caught my eye was that the circle & Hammersmith line managers and the district line managers had a bit of rivalry with the first S7 in service. Is it true hope so funny little anecdote .

I like the fact that there's a little competition between line managers. It can only be a good thing that they care about their jobs.

Understand from another source that from 1st October the number of S7 diagrams (SX) on both the Circle and Hammersmith & City increases by one each to five and ten respectively. Presumably the existing duties will increase by one each, can anybody advise the additional duties (or even Train Numbers) please?
Many thanks in advance

Although not a good day due to the signal failure at Tower Hill this morning I did note two possible new train numbers formed of S7s at Barbican today. Services were still recovering mid afternoon! Candidates were T/N 203 and T/N 234. Can anyone confirm that these were the two new workings for S7s commencing today 1.10.13.
Many thanks in advance

Do you mean as Train operating numbers, or as Actual S7 numbers (eg 21301/21302)? If it is the train operating numbers, then see JulianG's post above

Is T244 meant to be a S stock, I've just been on it and on the last page it was noted as a C stock?

There were severe delays on the H&C earlier on so the unit was reformed to work on that service.

Ah ok, I've heard from a member of staff that both circle and H&C lines will go all S stock in December this year, that can't be right can it?

Given the rate of C-stock withdrawals (3 last week) and the fact that so many S Stock are built and ready to be released in service, I think that is highly achievable. The H&C is already two-thirds S stock on some days.

All of which presumably implies that we will see an ever more noticeable presence of S stock on the district line from the new year.

The district should have the Wimbledon branch cleared for February, by which point there is a minimum number of S7s in service of 32, ie the whole C&H must be S7. But train 753 might start running from Parson's Green before that,

The district should have the Wimbledon branch cleared for February " Cleared? Surely they are not going to completely suspend service whilst waiting for new stock. What's 'C&H'? Did you type Hammersmith and City backwards or is it supposed to imply Hammersmith & City plus Circle?

I think cleared means the new trains are able to run in passenger service and C&H means both H&C and circle lines.

I think cleared means the new trains are able to run in passenger service and C&H means both H&C and circle lines. Thanks. I thought that part of the District line had already had S stock running on it - or is that just is some sort of 'test' mode as part of the process of getting it authorised for passenger use? I got the impression from an earlier post that they were starting to introduce S Stock on the District line before the HCC was completely updated but I could have got hold of the wrong end of the stick.

There is one on the District line for driver training between West Ham and Earl's Court, how do the train ops set the doors to hold open at stations instead of auto close after 45 seconds?

Yes, by cleared I mean they have the necessary infrastructure, eg the Track to Train CCTV transmitters, the stop boards etc, for the train to be able to run in service. Currently the services operating to Parson's Green are running out of service, primarily to ensure that the sidings and other infrastructure are compatible, but when the paperwork can be signed off for West Brompton, Fulham Broadway, and Parsons Green, then they can run trains in service over that stretch of track. The current train, which is used for T/Op training, can run in service on the District as there is the necessary infrastructure. And yes, by C&H and do mean "Circle & Hammersmith and City" which is slightly better than H&C&C or H&C. As for the doors, I think that there is an option in the TMCS when the doors are open, which overrules the automatic door closing.
