The following trains have been nominated for S7 stock working:- Mondays to Fridays Train 261, 06.06 HMS DT - 11.11 HMS DT; 16.19 HMS DT - 01.09 HMS DT Train 245 (FX), 05.26 HMS DT - 00.42 HMS DT Train 232 (FO), 04.30 HMS DT - 00.01 BKG27E Saturdays Train 230, 04.30 HMS DT - 00.42 HMS DT Train 242, 06.32 BKG27E - 01.07 BKG23 Sundays Train 236, 06.55 HMS DT - 23.22 HMS DT Train 242, 06.38 BKG23 - 00.02 HMS DT

So will the S Stock be doing other routes as well on a need be basis and is there any chance of them ending up as a Circle line service as any point (service disruption, late running etc.) ?

I don't think they'd be introduced on the Circle Line until all Hammersmith & City Line trains are running S Stock.

If they can be tested as far as Barking, why not test them as far as Upminster while they're at it? That way, it's all done and dusted well before they use them for District services. Not that it matters much because its not that important to passengers (I hate the use of any dumbed down abbreviations, particularly PAX) really.......

That's a good idea, I think that a train is supposed to be stabled overnight Saturday nights so perhaps they can run that out of service to Upminster and back and stabled at Upminster overnight instead.
My question is though, has Barking - Upminster been made "S Stock Ready" yet?

My question is though, has Barking - Upminster been made "S Stock Ready" yet? Not for passenger use beyond Upney yet. Empty working to Upminster is available after an S7 ventured there last week.

Can an S7 do Hammersmith-Aldgate yet? Can't remember if the bays have 7car stopping marks.

Train 261, 06.06 HMS DT - 11.11 HMS DT; 16.19 HMS DT - 01.09 HMS DT S Stock unit 21313/4 was this train earlier. Got a bit excited as I saw it at Platform 1 at Hammersmith. Strange that there were no promo ads that were seen on the first four S7 units.

Just catching up, 21319 was on T402 in the morning of the 10th and rolled into Harrow to take me home that night as T445.
Just 21001 and the other S7+1 to get!

Makes sense to me - as I was getting off a Met train at Baker St on P3 last night I noticed an S7 on the outer rail platform. Must have been around 7:15 or later.

I have in interesting high speed experience on an S Stock Uxbridge service this afternoon. The train was significantly delayed at Kings Cross due to a passenger alarm and at baker Street the T/Op announced that, due to the delay, it would run semi fast and omit the three stations between Finchley Road and HoH. I presume that, due to the need to make up time, the normal pre-programmed speed profile was amended or disabled because the train reached a really decent speed reminiscent of the A stock of old. The good news is the train accelerated to its top speed very rapidly but sadly it also bounced around just like the old A stock; it was not a pleasant ride and made me realise just how bad the track is.

I have also found the ride to be far from satisfactory. Some of the track on the Met is still but much has been replaced. The small wheels of the S stock do not make for a good ride at speed which is a shame. conversely, the London Overground units on the rough Watford DC line have a pretty good ride!

Does anyone know what the hold up is with the latest stock?
Nothing has been delivered for six weeks but there are, apparently, eleven trains at the test track!

There are 11xS7s at Old Dalby, 1xS8 and 1xS7+1. Must be a bit crowded or cosy there ;D ;D
