That's what I meant, 3 will be in Derby at one time and there will be 3 S7+1's, 2 have already been built.
The more interesting delivery will be 21381/82 & 21383/84 and a third being delivered as S7-1's. Either that or the final 3 S8's will go up as S8+1's, either way this will be a rare sight.

Any idea if any of these S7+1's will operate on Saturday before or after the tour?

No chance. (This) Thursday morning's delivery to Neasden was the first S7+1 delivery. A second is at Old Dalby.

Ok, weve sussed the S7 delivery from last week. Anybody have a clue which S7 + 1 was delivered later in the week?
Even better, when it will be out in service on the Met? I only need 21001 now, so something new to bash would be nice!

21319 is the S7+1 you're referring to.

There are photos on Railway Herald of a delivery this week, and the class 20s running north through Wembley, the S stock must have arrived at Neasden depot early yesterday morning (11th October): railwayherald.com/imagingcentre/view/256176It seems to be an 8-car so was this unit 21323?

Yep, 21324-21323. Another S7+1. 37 S8 trains to go back now apparently.

37 out of 58 trains! Damn that's not good. When are they going to start going back do we think?

When the S7+1 enter service, will they work set trains (EG T477 work PM only, with just one round triip) or will they be common user with S8 fleet ?

The "plan" is to path them onto shorter distance trips - avoiding Amersham and Chesham paths. However, plans can be made, but the service must be run, and I am sure that despite the apparent discomfort, Mr Amersham or Ms Chesham would rather have a "train" than a half-hour wait. So, there may be occasions where the S7+1s will end up on those services.

Unfortunatley somebody didnt follow Metcontrol's plan as 21319 (+25382) was seen departing HoH @ 09:50 on T420 to Amersham today! Lots of confused and grumpy faces aboard!

That's interesting. There's no scheduled 420 in the Working Timetable, and the Amershams at this time of the day are 411-416. Wonder if a wrong number was displayed.
Also wonder if it was the first S7+1 day?

The train I got on at 10.25 at Harrow was an ex Amersham. The train got invaded at Northwick Park and Preston Road and Wembley Park. There were some grim faces on board. Many clearly wished they'd got the Chiltern. So did I, but I missed it by 2 mins

Not my plan to keep them off the Amershams, but someone else's. And it appears that unbeknownst to me, I managed to put an S7+1 on an Amersham trip without even trying, as I was on the desk this morning ;D I had thought we would have which trains they were on emphasised a little more to us, but apparently not. There were cancellations early this morning, which obviously meant the stock ended up being moved onto an Amersham path through the stepping-back at Aldgate. I will pay more attention to the allocation sheets tomorrow, but having said that, as I stated yesterday, it is a train and the alternative is a cold stand on the platform.

Definately, it's better to have a train than not at all. There is not much difference in the numbers of seats anyway.

So, another S7 was delivered last night and I only know of one S8 thats gone back to Derby so far unless somebody else knows different? I was expecting both the S7 deliveries and the S8 returns to be a little more frequent than this.
Back on S8's, does anybody know when we are to expect 21001/002 to be delivered for service?

21319 formed the 1708 Aldgate to Chesham this evening. Still a few standing as the train departed Rickmansworth.

Sounds like this S7 might end up being the most travelled S Stock in all, only one perhaps to travel the entire SSL, it's already done the hardest pa rts for a future S7 to get too.

Possible held by 21001/02, 21003/04, 21099/100, which have now returned to Derby twice and S"6" 21011/12 which also visited Berlin?! Although many service trains in London have clocked up many miles in 2years.
