Still on this subject, a Special Trains Notice has been published for a further path between Neasden depot and Northwood sidings. Point is, it's dated to operate on 7th, 13th 20th, 27th June and 4th, 11th July. Are these just dates booked as a contingency, or are they planning to get rid of six A Stock? Given the pitiful rate of S Stock introduction (3 trains in 2 years?) can they even allow that many A Stock to go? Views please! Maybe they really are planning to speed up the withdrawal of the A stock and the delivery of the S8s, given that they want to introduce most of them by the end of the year?

I expect what we'll find is that the publication of this STN provides the 'A' Stock Disposal project team with the facility of a weekly path and driver to move stock for scrapping from Neasden to Northwood. I doubt very much that all of the above paths will be used although I would expect one to be used in the next couple of weeks. As we know, lack of storage capacity means that an 8-car 'A' stock must make way for an 8-car 'S' Stock and I wouldn't be surprised to read on this site if there are now at least two or three or even more S8s ready for delivery. Does the timing of this path remain similar to what's gone before, an approx midday arrival at Northwood? I would be grateful if you could advise.

No, depart Neasden 12:08, arrive Northwood 12:55 as Train 717 instead of 771.

With only seven cars they should manage to avoid the problems they had with the first train, getting the cars past each other and onto the lowloaders.

LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

It's looking like 5086 will be forming one half of next week's T717 running to Northwood. I spotted this unit resting quietly in the sunset at Uxbridge sidings just a few weeks ago ... (along with 5169):- anyone know what the other unit forming next week's T717 will be ..?

When riding the A-Stock I often find myself day dreaming thinking of all the different people from all walks of life who have travelled on them over the years.
They really are trains with real character and it is said that they will be leaving the network but recently I have really noticed them going downhill in terms of cleanliness, vandalism, seating etc - Nearly every one I have been in seems to be falling apart and stinking of Urine/Vomit.
A brilliant picture above, captures the character of the trains brilliantly.

It isnt the trains fault it smells of urine and vomit! If these were given a deep clean they'd still be as nice inside as they always were

more sad sights recently, the gate sadly looks to be closing on 70mph travel and non stop services to buckinghamshire.the a stock will be sadly missed by many and equally may be seen as the met lines optimal pinnacle period.

Are there any pictures, or the possibility of any pictures of an A stock leaving by road going past a Rail Replacement bus stop? I think it'd make quite a good picture......

Some excellent, professional looking photographs. Although a truly shocking scene. Such a shame.

Trespass photos, taken illegally by people who should not have been on site. Bengley, if you took the pictures you were breaking the law and were on somebody else's property without their permission. This is not a derelict building for you to explore, but an active business premises where you had no right to be. Neither Booths nor LU will be pleased.

Booth's sometimes will let you on site for a small fee, but I wouldn't have thought that time of night was the time you were allowed on site. Still sad to see them going that way...
Question: Bengley, were you granted permission to go in there?
