Why did it have to be 5066, especially as I couldn't make it up there?

Wasn't it something like 2 cars a day?

Some really nice photos there, symbolising how this is the end of the road for these units and the dark future that awaits after such a long service life. 5167 at Moor Park 05/04/11 by Steve11, on Flickr

Perhaps someone should put these photos into a gallery and put the funeral march over it *runs*

I have been asked by the Project Manager for the disposal of 'A' Stock to gently remind everyone that access to the siding is strictly prohibited (even to staff) for various safety reasons. In particular she would ask that staff do not approach security personnel on site for permission to enter the area as this raises serious safety concerns.
She has also asked me to say that she thinks the photo's are fantastic! Thanks everyone.

Well, we've all been told that it would get the security staff in a bit of bother if someone were to get in. The guard may have said otherwise, but the scrap manager disapproved of that business.
Also, forgive me if I am wrong, but aren't people supposed to have full hi-vi covering on-site? Maybe that's just me being OTT with the HSE. Who knows?

If you didn't notice, that video was uploaded before prjb posted not to approach the security, so whoever it is undoubtedly had permission to be there.

Why does the deadman's handle in the video have the big orange tag around it?

Big orange label says "EQUIPMENT ROBBED". Presumably indicating that parts have been stripped from the train to keep the others running. Which would make sense given the pulled up seats and various pieces of equipment sat around in the passenger saloons. And the missing bits from the T/Op's console.

Yes the luggage racks are all gone!! Clearly it isn't that much of a problem for them to be removed, as previously related to :/

bit eerily quite that video despite all that's around.a sad end.
what was that with the yellow covers that was once under a seat? on the right, looks like a battery or something.surprised someone hasn't taken the handle if they could remove it.there's a ramp there now too that wasn't there before.

Still on this subject, a Special Trains Notice has been published for a further path between Neasden depot and Northwood sidings. Point is, it's dated to operate on 7th, 13th 20th, 27th June and 4th, 11th July. Are these just dates booked as a contingency, or are they planning to get rid of six A Stock? Given the pitiful rate of S Stock introduction (3 trains in 2 years?) can they even allow that many A Stock to go? Views please!

Maybe an A stock will go on one of those dates, so the dates there are just available paths for it to take?
