A few views of Silver Street station I took today... The ticket office on the southbound side of the station 20180913_141621 by james tuite, on Flickr Looking down onto the ticket office from the top of the southbound staircase 20180913_141541 by james tuite, on Flickr Looking at the station from the North Circular Road/Edmonton Angel juction. In the days of Eastern region, there was a blue neon sign on the bridge spelling out SILVER STREET BRITISH RAILWAYS 20180913_141751 by james tuite, on Flickr A new sign on the southbound exit ...bit of an odd thing to say with White Hart Lane the next stop? 20180913_141533 by james tuite, on Flickr The ticket machine and staircase going up to the northbound platform 20180913_141705 by james tuite, on Flickr You will find those “exit for Tottenham Stadium” sticker/signs at Edmonton Green, Bruce Grove and Seven Sisters! Perhaps to spread the loads, but as you say White Hart Lane is the obvious one and unless you’ve been in a black hole for the last 100 years, you will know that this is the nearest station!

I’m certain Finsbury Park is the platform and the coloured tiles I’m unsure of but is Victoria Line, maybe Green Park?

Edmonton Green has an internal gateline, and I think it had one pre-TfL. Turkey Street has a gateline in what I think is an new or extended building. Theobalds Grove has an internal gateline, but I don't know how long it's been there. I think the same is true at Bruce Grove. Southbury I'm not sure about, but it will be internal if there is one. Bush Hill Park just has readers - two of the three entrances are narrow passageways, the third is through a ticket hall that is probably too small for a gateline and without expanding this there is no realistic place for a gateline on the main (southbound) side. On the northbound side, it looks like moving the entrance to the other end of the minicab office and building an enclosure for a gateline there looks like it would be trivial though (but might require moving the platform shelter and/or loss of one tree). I presume the major redevelopment planned at White Hart Lane will come with a gateline. Can confirm Southbury has a gate line. Top of the stairs serving as one gate line for both platforms

We should immediately refrain from discussing about how best to use a train as a form of terrorism. It’s good to discuss ideas to improve security, but remember this forum can still be searched for and read by Tom, Dick and his mischievous mate Harry. Let’s be mindful. Thanks

At the top of this thread it was explicitly said that rules regarding unusual train movements must be strictly adhered to. I have just removed a post doing just that. Repeated rule breaks could lead to sanctions which is also mentioned in our rules. Could all members please review their posts before posting.
Thanks

I’ve taken a trip from Angel Road to Stratford this morning.
My observations:
- the track is connected via new points just north of Lea Bridge Station and it’s quite clear it has had a train on it by the markings on the track. This track goes as far as just north of the GOBLIN bridge.
- the station at Meridian Water is coming along nicely and the most northerly point of the platforms is not far from the old Angel Road station

why are they not running two 172s joined together at the moment? The answer is fairly obvious they only have enough trains to run the current headway. Putting 2 together would halve the available trains and then halve the frequency

Was there a person on track at Eastcote today? If so, were they ok? We don’t discuss “person on a track” or subjects related to this. If it’s in the news, links can be made but discussion is a NO

And of course, there was the interesting announcement, buried amid the other news from the Transport Secretary, that these could end up being London Overground units in the not too distant future Do you have a link to this story?

Not sure what the point of this thread is. It’s going round in circles and serves nothing more than irritating other members. It’s ok to rant on this forum, but it becomes tedious and nonsensical when it’s moaned about to death. I appreciate 80p means something to you, but this forum isn’t the place for that. You’ve made your point and this thread is now locked

An update:
Track now laid between Lea Bridge and almost Tottenham Hale. This is not yet connected to mainline, although I suspect this will be done last.
Most of the ballast has been laid where the rest of the track will go
The station rebuilds or new stations look some way from completion
It’s quite exciting seeing the track down.
Go and have a look!
