Looks like it's now reopened (albeit with severe delays as one would expect).

Yep - turns out that's exactly what it was. Changing from the Jubilee line to the eastbound Central, routed left up the stairs from the subway rather than right, which then promptly caused a bottleneck of people queuing for the Shenfield train vs. the masses trying to get to the Central line. I'm a South Woodford denizen, so wanted the far end of the platform too. Ho hum!

Hi all,
According to the TfL website, there are closures between Turnham Green <> Richmond, Earl's Court <> Olympia and HSK <> Edgware Road. Just checking on the journey planner and I can't force it to offer me a route from Mile End through to Putney Bridge via. Earl's Court without it trying to either a) punt me on a rail replacement bus between Earl's Court and West Brompton, or b) send me via. Shepherd's Bush to West Brompton on a LO / Southern service, to connect with the district.
1) Are trains running as normal through from the east via. Earl's Court and down to Wimbledon?
2) If so, why is the journey planner being a PITA?
Thanks all!
Jim.

Pretty simple question really. I always see this sign at South Woodford E/B and was wondering what it meant. Thanks in advance as always!

This one's driving me mad - I went past this a couple of weeks ago and thought 'that'd be a good DD quiz image', and now for the life of me I can't remember where I saw it!

It was a tale of two journeys for me. Arrived at South Woodford on the WB around 1830 and had a 15-minute wait for a Leytonstone terminator. Upon arrival at Leytonstone there was a White City train gleefully sailing out of the adjacent platform with about five people on board. Another 15-minute wait, and then a White City train rolled in and collected us all off the island platform. Total journey time to Liverpool Street of ~ 50 minutes. Got a TfL rail service from Liverpool Street to Stratford after the rugby which departed two mins after I got there, and upon arrival at Stratford there was a South Woodford terminator just pulling into the EB platform alongside . Journey time of ~18 minutes. All a case of pot luck when there are problems I guess! Did seem a bit odd on the way into town to not hold the EB train to White City at Leytonstone when the Leytonstone terminator was no more than five seconds off making the connection.

Novice question here, but the RORI acronym - why isn't it RIRO? I would have thought that roll in roll out would be a measure of station occupancy dwell time, rather than the former. TIA all!

I might be completely making this up, but I'm sure I read somewhere (possibly even on here) that on the northern line "the next station is" announcements are triggered by some sort of wheel turn device on the train itself to judge the distance to the upcoming station, rather than a beacon on the track. Happy to be corrected as always!

Heard a whisper that a district line train might have paid North Ealing a visit this morning, just like the late great DD himself! What are the procedures for getting the train back onto the green line after this occurs? Cheers.
