Apologies if this has been asked/detailed elsewhere (a cursory search didn't yield much) - how many S7 trains have been fitted with the appropriate equipment to navigate the active SMA (Signalling Migration Area) area? Also, is it a case of actually fitting new equipment or just activating equipment currently fitted (but just not previously used)?
I ask as my Circle Line train this morning was diverted at Edgware Road to become a Wimbleware with the reason given by the driver as "...due to this train not being fitted with the right equipment to go on the automatic tracks to Hammersmith... otherwise we would just get stuck.". I hadn't previously given thought as to whether the S7s required additional fitment to enable them to run over the SMA area - this would provide a constraint in times of disruption and service recovery if, as per this morning, "unfitted" trains were erroneously assigned to Hammersmith services.

On the assumption that the above two are correct, and on the basis that there are 6 in the set, would the link be Northern Line stations beginning with B? Possibly Belsize Park for A and Balham for D?
If all of the above is correct, then the 5th and 6th are Bank and Brent Cross.

And the link is that these are all photographs of XXX Road stations containing a door (I'm not saying this is the exclusive set!)

Judging from the guesses above I'd hazard a guess that the connection is Christmas-themed stations (e.g. TURKEY, ANGEL, STAR)?

This may or may not be the same train, but arriving at Aldgate yesterday (c. 0820) I found, as usual, a Met train in P3 whilst I waited on P4 for the Circle Line to Hammersmith. About a minute before the Met train departed, the announcement "The destination of this train has changed, this is now a Circle Line train to Hammersmith" was played and the displays reflected this. I waited on the platform regardless since I was skeptical, and as it pulled away I can confirm it was definitely an S8 with Circle Line descriptors. I am very much assuming that this train, being an S8, didn't actually transpire to be a Circle Line train for its duration!

I don't think the issue is for people going to Hainault, more for those that actually wanted to alight at Wanstead, Redbridge &c...

The roving eastern european musicians are a bit of an earful, TBH. All that squeeze box, tambourines, whooping and foot banging... Jollity should not be permitted on the underground.
There's a group of 3 (or maybe 4) who I have encountered numerous times on various lines, including the various Subsurface railways and the Northern Line who are ridiculously irritating, and seemingly only have one song (When the Saints go Marching In). Provoked one of my favourite encounters on the Underground when, whilst holding their hats out for money, a fellow passenger remarked to them that "Busking on the Underground without a permit is illegal", which got the response from one of the clowns of "F*ck you, we provide entertainment and everyone loves us"....the passenger quite calmly retorted "Is that why you've received precisely no donations whatsoever then?"!! The band promptly left the train...

This is something that I've noticed a few times on my evening peak commute home recently, and I'd be grateful if anyone could offer an explanation as to why this happens:
I will be on an Eastbound Jubilee train terminating at Stratford, which is followed a minute or two later by one terminating at North Greenwich. However, upon arriving at North Greenwich we are held by the signaller at a red signal (as announced by the driver) until the following train has pulled into the terminating platform. Only once it has fully pulled in are we then allowed to proceed. It cannot be for the case of allowing any passengers on the terminating train to get onto our train, since there is no time allowance for passengers to alight, go up and over the tracks and down onto the through platform - it purely is a case of the terminating train stopping, opening its doors and then our train shutting its doors and departing.
I'd be most grateful for any insight into this that anyone can offer!

As a guess, how about Acton Town for D, the link being "Acton" and the odd one out being C as it is not a station?

Indeed, and the first comment to the photo (8 years ago) on the link provided even states as much:
"Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club Ilford Branch 8y
The picture is of Hainault Depot, Trains are 1962 Stock and the Sleet Loco."

How about C being Shepherd's Bush (LO) with the odd one out being D, since it is not a "Shepherd's Bush"?
