My London do not have reporters in the actual sense. Their newsgathering service consists of youngsters in their bedrooms trawling the internet and social media for anything to put on their website. Hence the lack of proper journalism.

The RMT action on 6 May has been suspended The RMT want to extend the action beyond the Central Line, and ballot the entire underground apparently.

I hope the extra money for rejigged night tube service is enough to tempt some of our drivers into doing them. We used to have nights, but they never ran trains after 1 am or before 4.30 am. I certainly am not looking forward to this.

Night tube will not return until next year. ASLEF are negotiating that existing nite tubers will be offered full time contracts if they want it. The night tube (When it returns) will be incorporated into the full time roster. I dont know where this leaves people who have successfully passed the interview and assessments for TO23.

Apparently they are also lifting the redundant rails east of Epping. The only redundant rails at Epping being removed are the old crossovers and trap points and a section of the old East siding closest to the buffer stop. The remainder is the overrun beyond the platforms, and not redundant. But this has nothing to do with Pandrol Vanguard, so any discussion about what's going on should be in a new thread.Well, my original post was not just about the Pandrol removal, But also the engineering work at the east end of the Central Line which is covered by the closure. I will amend my thread title if you wish.

Basically means that there is at least one train in the section between you and the next colour light signal.

Apparently there will be nothing east of Bethnal Grn that weekend. There will be a W Ruislip - Bethnal and Ealing - Liv St service. West Ruislip-Bethnal Green every 10min Ealing Broadway-Liverpool St every 10min White City-Liverpool St every 10min I wonder if we need such an intensive service in the middle of a lockdown. Train crews from the east end of the line will have to make their way to Bethnal or Liv St on the replacement buses.

I used to see this quite often during hot weather, and you used to get a lovely breeze sitting near the guard's area. Was this practice officially allowed? I used to do it a lot in the summer in the open sections. It was also well known that once the rear carriage cleared out, Leytonstone EB etc, the Guard took down the bar and sat on the passenger seats. It wasnt strictly allowed but nobody cared in those days.

What is the purpose of a rectifier and what is the issue with the one at Newbury Park? On Saturday 19 September 2020, one of the two rectifiers (used to supply direct current (DC) traction to the railway), at Newbury Park substation packed up.

I assume the engineering work planned for Feb 13th is to remove these blooming things? What's the problem with them? Tens (hundreds?) of millions of them have been happily keeping rails on sleepers for decades. The blooming noise is horrendous! Drivers and passengers have been complaing about it for months. Especially around Bethnal Green and Wanstead Mod note: Please try to avoid using abbreviated station names, not everyone knows where they are. Thanks.

The Central Line is still running a pretty much full service utilizing the W&C drivers. Although the trains are very lightly loaded.

The westbound tunnel between Shepherds Bush and White City has the tightest curves on the entire underground system.

As per the video, is Grange Hill via Woodford a rare display now? Around 1970, Grange Hill via Woodford was a daily Mon-Fri service through central London at around 9 a.m. I don't know where it started, but West Ruislip I think Th ereis a booked service to Grange Hill that starts from Ruislip on weekday afternoons. Also there is no reversing point at GH so these trains stable in Hain depot. There are also some cases of a defective train running to depot via Wfd from Lyst, which are not in service.

Around the 3 minute mark we can see an A car cab making up the second unit. Nothing annoys a driver as much as coming across one of these when changing ends in a siding!

Coverage is starting to be an issue on the Central Line, with several Train Operators tested positive and others shielding yet again. I wonder how long LUL can run a full timetable?

I have had a few trains run around the loop as NEP sdg was out of commission. On arrival at Grange Hill a Leytonstone destination was showing on the platform describer which was corrected at LYS west. It must be a signalling anomoly. Newbury Park sidings aren't out of commission, on Friday I was short tripped there for late running when I was supposed to be a Hainault via Newbury Park and went up there again yesterday as per timetable. Don't know what is going on with the "Leytonstone" destinations, we've done Woodford or Grange Hill reversers before and that's not been a issue so maybe its a new "anomaly". Sorry, I didnt make myself clear. Not recently, this was a few months back. The Leytonstone TD was showing back then too.

ASLEF are balloting for a strike on LUL. It seems rather pointless to me, and I dont know that many drivers will vote for it either. Being discussed here since Monday districtdavesforum.co.uk/thread/30018/strike?page=6Its far from pointless with management refusing to make a commitment to respect existing agreements or to negotiate any changes and from talking to other drivers there seems to be plenty of support. Apologies, I didnt realise that thread was still active. It is pointless because who is going to be inconvienced? The trains are running around half empty out there! Even the strike happy RUMPTEES are wondering why a ballot is being called.

I knew the Piccadilly Line Bag-on-the-handle driver very well. He was at Northfields.
