Mon 1 May: Marble Arch to Loughton / Hainault (Night Tube) Does that mean eastbound trains reverse into the siding at Marble Arch and then T/Op switches end and train moves forward to westbound, and then T/Op switches end again? They probably will double end and step back.

Ah thanks. I,m flying into Gatwick on the 29th April. I need to get to Greenford via the Gatwick Express, Vic and the Central Line from Oxford Circus. It looks like they will reversing east to west at Liv st, so I should be OK.

I was looking through the planned track closures for the next few months, and it appears there are a few closures for the Central, which is surprising as the Central rarely gets any closures. Sat 25 and 26 March: White City to Leytonstone Sat 29 April - Mon 1 May: Marble Arch to Loughton / Hainault (Night Tube) and Liverpool Street to Newbury Park / Woodford Does anyone know the reason for these closures or shall I bump the thread closer to the time? Thanks! It looks like the 29th April closure is not going ahead. The TfL website does not show any Central Line closures for that weekend.

Since the push and pull from Greenford has now been curtailed at West Ealing, Do I have to change platforms for the Elizabeth line when getting off the push and pull? Or does it depart from the same platform? I might have some heavy bags to lug up and down stairs.

I,m sure I read somewhere in this statement that the government will no longer pay for the freedom pass for the old folk. And children will lose the free travel for under 11's.

I consider myself lucky. After 34 years on the trains I have never had to use the ice scraper. Although it came close a few times. 😊

It is now not possible for an eastbound PICC to run local line from Acton Town to Hammersmith (pfm.4) (the westbound points are to be removed too) I wonder why they did that? I remember a dead early turn at Northfields in the morning used to call all stations to Hammersmith.

Station staff have shown goodwill by working overtime to keep the stations open because of shortages of staff. Alas, many may lose their jobs (Mrs Hobbayne included) So the goodwill has now expired.

Even if these stations are on strike zone 1 stations are very close together. Indeed Euston is half a mile or less from Euston Square, Warren Street and Kings Cross St Pancras Green Park is about half a mile from Buckingham Palace but Piccadilly Circus is about half a mile to the east and Hyde Park Corner half a mile to the west, St James Park and Victoria are roughly the same distance from Buckingham Palace to the south side while Charing Cross and Westminster are both close to the Admiralty Arch end of The Mall where the parade will finish RMT still has a mandate for strikes by all 10k members at TfL, they shut down most the the network for two days in March and caused disruption on the day in-between. This is just 85 members on strike for one day at two out of 262 stations As mentioned before this has been dragging on for months (years?), TfL/LUL had lots of time to deal with the issue (which according to various reports is due to actions of one rogue manager) but did nothing. RMT have gone by the book, followed the agreed procedures and in the end had no alternative but to ballot for strike action. Management have two weeks to sort out the mess they've created (they'll probably promote the manager out of the group) As far as I know, the manager has upset everyone wherever he or she has worked. It looks like the move to Green Pk was not a personal choice. I hear through the proverbial grapevine they may move move trainside to TOM.

The Substandard website is now carrying the story. I cant read the whole article because I'm not subscribing to read the rest. In typical Substandard mode, the comments sections are still calling for driverless trains etc.

Strike called for the 3rd of June. The bank holiday Jubilee weekend. Can you confirm that the strike is related to the disabled person being victimised by a manager? (If not, why not?) Amongst other things, yes.

Mrs Hobbayne knows a member of staff with a disability which was recognised by LUL and was interviewed and subsequently offered a position at Green Pk. The area manager told the staff member that they did not want them working at the station with said disability, and hounded the staff member till they left. Strike called for the 3rd of June. The bank holiday Jubilee weekend.

If there is a shuttle train in 21 road waiting to enter service, because of the westbound starting signal being at danger, westbound trains are signalled very slowly (10kph) up to the stopping mark. This is to protect the points ahead.

Even if not, it sounds as if the have a good case for constructive dismissal. Hence the ballot for action Aslefshrugged posted above.

Mess room chatter seems to indicate that after the strike runs out next month, it will quietly be consigned to history as another failed attempt to rally the troops.

I clocked 105db between Stratford and Leyton EB. Its no wonder why there are quite a few drivers failing the medical with hearing problems. Several have already been fitted with hearing aids.

Back in the day, there were two sidings at Debden. Newbury Pk too. They all were dead end sidings unlike now when you can take passengers through them.

The lights between STR and MIE have been reported by the H&S to management several times but little has been done. I believe it has now been escalated.

The Central Line has the most stations in Ealing and Redbridge. Most of the Hainault loop in fact.
