Now that there are 16 09ts does this mean that there are 28 67ts left? I was just wondering if when a new train arrives does a 67ts go? Yes, the good people in Atlanta have actually allowed it to be sold in these little islands! ;D

Well they are running about 12 - 13 2009 stock in peak service at the moment. Tipping point will be 19 in service. I reckon around mid January.

Were there any maintenance issues existing or developing with the 67TS? As far as I know the trains remain in good condition internally and externally. This suggests that perfectly good serviceable trains are being sent for scrapping, simply because their replacements have arrived and been made ready for service. Wouldn't these new trains themselves have a longer life if they were simply kept in reserve until needed, as opposed to bringing them into full service simply for the sake of it. Five years from now, hypothetically, the 67TS trains could still be running as efficiently as they have ever done, with any train temporarily "off the road" being replaced by a new train. I don't understand the obsession with replacing an entire fleet simply so LU can gloat over the fact that a particular line is running brand new stock. Although they may appear, at first glance, to be running smoothly, it isn't obvious how mich effort goes into making them this way. Nor is he failure rate of the stock. Sure, when the 67 stock are running normally, they appear as reliable as ever, but the reality may be different. I'm not a maintenance engineer, so I'm only speculating. Also, if they are kept in service another five years, they may become really unreliable. Better to replace them now because at some point, the reliability will take a nose dive. Could you imagine how bad things would be when you are trying to bring in a new fleet with all its teething troubles, while the existing fleet is breaking down left, right and centre!

3153+3052 heading into Acton Works this morning. Hope they remember that 3052 is going accross the road to the depot rather than north on the back of a lorry! An internal press release was issued today on the subject, reproduced below. -------------------------------------------- The train the Queen rode on to mark the opening of the Victoria line has been decommissioned and delivered to the London Transport Museum Depot. On Friday 7 March 1969 the Queen travelled in the cab of a 67 Stock train from her local station Green Park, and ever since the train has been fondly remembered by staff as the 'Royal train'. The delivery was organised by Alf Arnold, Upgrades Project Manager, and the train was eagerly welcomed by friends of the museum. Senior Curator Bob Bird, says: "We are very pleased to add this underground car to our rail collection. Its royal association will be a highlight for our visitors although we plan to give it a good steam clean first!" Guided tours of the museum are available to the public on selected dates during the year; more detail can be found on the museum website. --------------------------------------------

I am guessing that the location for this is either Ruislip or Hainault depot, or somewhere on the Hainault loop?

Ill never forget my first ride on a 1967 stock when i was 4 years old My first ride on one of them was between Woodford and Chigwell IIRC - around the early to mid 70's. We deliberately missed a Cravens 60TS and waited for what seemed like ages to get it.

It left Northumberland Park at 11 this morning. It was an 8 car train, but I forgot to take the North/East (dependent on line) unit number. Failed miserably in my duty there, Sorry

Failed miserably in my duty there, Sorry Tut tut ;D Do they do anything to the train at Northumberland Park before it leaves (apart from fitting tripcocks)? Presumably, it could have been in service the night before.

This one had been used over the weekend (and stabled at Vauxhall over the weekend IIRC) to take materials to site for the Vic line engineering works so was already out of service for a short while before going for scrap.

This was the order of service viewed at Green park around midday on 23/11/10. 14 sets of 1967 stock and 13 sets of 2009 stock.
3071+3033 11030+11029 3050+3072 3056+3060 11028+11027 3076+3058 3026+3082 11016+11015 3067+3039 11012+11011 3005+3049 3029+3010 3004+3037 11014+11013 3075+3078 11005+11006 3086+3054 11025+11026 11007+11008 3055+3028 11021+11022 3032+3069 11017+11018 3085+3003 11023+11024 11039+11040 (smelled like it was fresh out of the factory) 11033+11034
Around 1400 I travelled on 3040+3041 and in the peak I saw 3023 but missed its partner.

I saw 3104-can't remember the end part but it was not in service at finsbury park around 11ish this morn, it stopped for a short while then they switched to manual mode, I'm guessing that was the next 67ts to go?
