And, equally, AIUI the stock is coming from Derby whereas CF Booth are in Rotherham (not far from the station and visible from the line, as it happens).

Well Rotherham and Derby are only about 45 miles apart (compared to 165 and 130 respectively from Northumberland Park Depot), so one lorry doing Derby-London-Rotheram-Derby is probably more efficient than two lorries between London and points north thereof, especially with one trip empty. Although the 67s leaving from Acton makes this unlikely, it's not impossible.

Saw a DM on a low loader heading north on the M1 a few miles north of Newport Pagnell about 5pm yesterday - didn't see what number it was - I was southbound.

It would have been 3001 or 3101. These were the next two in the order to go waiting to be loaded yesterday morning.

I saw a single 09TS car going south on the M1 on Tuesday afternoon as I was going north. I didn't see any others. Anyone know how many deliveries/disposals they do in a day?

Re disposals, it is normally no more than two, sometimes one, but they have been known to do four very rarely when space in Acton was at a premium.
For the 2009 Stock, it is scheduled two per day. This week's train (Train 13 !!), however, had a problem and they delivered 1-2-1-2 with the last two tomorrow apparently.

How many 67s are there left at Northumberland Park? Think there are still 34 trains left there.

Correct - with one to leave next week, which will leave 33.

Correct - with one to leave next week, which will leave 33. Incidentally, do they have a planned order of withdrawal i.e. a list of the most unreliable units, which will be withdrawn first? Or is it a case of "let's get that one now"?

Not sure about this programme but previous ones usually on the basis of time since last heavy maintenance, programme lift etc, and some changes e.g. if a train develops a costly problem it may be scrapped earlier.

4176 (in unit 3076-4076-4176-3176) is still on the Victoria Line.
I would suggest what you saw was 4116 which left Acton by road earlier that afternoon.

Ah it might have been 4116 then, I did only see the number briefly as I was doing 70 in the other direction!

I can only tell you that 10 trains have been scrapped so far, 29th Aug and further units are averaging out at a rate of 1 train per month.

Do you think that if the new trains hadn't been ordered by now they order could have been shelved to save money for the cuts? I only say after seeing the thread on the 38ts on the IOW. LT made quality products; could they with another refurb have lasted another 20 years? As to whether one would want them to is another matter.
I'm surprised that they wont be saving the seats with armrests to use in the 72ts. Seems a bit of a waste.

I certainly think some complete trains should be kept for service on the Bakerloo. Most of the dedicated Bakerloo spare trains have been scrapped now and I really think some spare trains of that generation need to be kept.

Of course what makes pictures of these trains going for scrap look strange is the fact that they are the first refurbished stock to suffer this fate.

That's very true! It's almost the start of the end of an era - if that makes sense! All those lovely silver trains that were sprayed to hell in the 80s-90s, then lovingly refurbished are now starting to come to their end

To convert them to 72TS standard, they'd only have to rip out one trailer and the ATO equipment, fit in tripcocks etc, and change the info (maps etc) to fir the Bakerloo... right?
I'm sure spare trains would be very welcome.
@ metman: It is indeed!!

Sad indeed, the end of an era, I watched the Victoria line being built as a young teenager and it was just 10 years old when I began to ride it daily and a little more when I began working in parts of it. My nearest station was Seven Sisters and 30+ years ago as far as I was concerned the 67 stock were the best in service at the time from a travelling viewpoint, a really comfortable ride. The whole of the Underground is changing out of all recognition to that that I knew and loved for decades. One of the drawbacks of 'progress' !

I apologise to the Mods but perhaps I may appeal here for some help with identifying locations in a series of probably COMMERCIAL MOTOR (or one of its associated titles) taken around 1965 I suppose when the Vic Line was being built? These are street scenes showing where the building works were and the effect on traffic, including the Oxo circus 'umbrella' that so many of us recall.
Please PM me. Thanks!
I intend to use them in my magazine if possible as a memorial to the 1967 Stock.

With them going so fast thought I ask.. how many 67 Stock are likely to end up in museums?
I know one already is, but in a very bad way.

I think there should be a post-refurb DM saved at least, as an example of LU's first corporate refurb. It can stand fir both the 67s and the 72s. Oh, the 73s MUST be preserved, but that's a diff story.
