A 378 can feel like it's icy when the unit is empty and the air con is on full blast!

I've every confidence LOROL will get it right eventually, as they did with NLL and later E/SLL. Just a great pity the start has been so bad... I would not be surprised if there was not sabotage, in terms of purposefully leaving trains in a shoddy state, to try and ruin the image of the Concession system by a vested interest of the Franchise system. You could see Abellio slowly letting the trains and stations deteriorate. There were similar issues when Thameslink replaced FCC.

There will be a fares oddity in comparison to the rest of the TfL rail network with these services, especially on local journeys outside Zone 1.
While some fares will be £1.50 off-peak for two zones (Walthamstow to Highams Park, Stratford to Ilford), others don't change at all. So for example, I can travel from Forest Hill to Epping for £1.50, yet Forest Hill to Romford will be £2.60, which is the same as now.

Good to see TfL are keeping NR prices for most journeys to and from London Liverpool Street. This is in keeping with the policy on the ELL between Shoreditch High Street and other core stations where it's cheaper to charge at the NR than the TfL rate.

IIRC of those three only 7 day travelcards are issued on Oyster. I won't be surprised if paper 7 day Travelcards continue to be issued at the AGA stations post May 31st until Oyster is enabled at the ticket office, although the franchise agreement with AGA states. If I've read this correctly, AGA have to provide Oyster at their remaining managed stations within the travelcard zones by the end of the month, which leaves LOROL/MTR Crossrail to do the stations which move to TfL.

AIUI at the moment LO is a National Rail TOC, so surely they issue National Rail stock? I would have thought that the "new" operator would also be a National Rail operator and thus issue tickets on National Rail Stock in accordance with the Rail Settlement Plan. LOROL (and LUL stations north of Queens Park, along with Gunnersbury and Kew Gardens) issue NR stock with a green TfL roundel in the middle.

Anyone know when the booking offices/machines at the new LO stations will cease issuing tickets on NR stock? When Forest Hill changed from Southern to LOROL, it didn't happen overnight that the stock changed to the green TfL roundel in the middle. I'd be more concerned as to when the ticket offices are Oyster enabled.

More importantly is that Bethnal Green NR and Whitechapel should be an OSI (as mentioned elsewhere) once it becomes part of the Overground network.

I can't see how it'll work on lines where NR need access to their infrastructure, but a Dalston Junction to New Cross/New Cross Gate service could work where TfL own that part of the ELL.

One thing that gets me, if they'd just look through the glass in front of them they would see a wall. Why do they still think they can get off there? Not to mention the clear signs on the doors which say that those doors may not open at some stations.

How long have the LU machines been able to sell a full range of NR tickets? I've seen the signs at London Bridge, Charing Cross and even at East Finchley.

I managed to ride the 5 car unit today between Forest Hill and Surrey Quays.
Some observations:
I didn't hear the x car of 5 message. Presumably these only come on when the unit reaches Canada Water and other short platform stations on the core? The internal CIS LED displays didn't work on the new carriage. Stickers are on the end carriage doors informing passengers that those won't open at certain stations.

I spotted the 5 car unit southbound at Whitechapel at 1605 today out of service. This was sandwiched between the West Croydon and Crystal Palace service, of which I was on and terminated at NXG due to congestion at Surrey Quays.

Are there any arrival times available for any 5-car trains yet for any station? I know the 1740 from Highbury & Islington to Crystal Palace has the 5 car unit.

I was under the impression that NR signalers operate the signals from New Cross Gate and work in conjunction with TfL/London Rail and LOROL staff in the same building?

A power cut on the loop section between Sydenham and Crystal Palace is affecting both LO and Southern Services.
The 1751 London Bridge to Victoria terminated at Sydenham. (I'm assuming the train then went back to Selhurst Depot), while it isn't clear what has happened to LO services. I suspect they've terminated at NXG with West Croydon services running as normal.
Edit: Southern are tweeting it's a broken down train at Sydenham and signalling problems at NXG.

I no longer use the line but it certainly was the case that tickets into Liverpool Street were also valid on the Central from Stratford. Presumably related to the take over of the Ongar branch. They still are. You can also use London Terminals tickets from Great Northern stations between Kings Cross and Old Street/Moorgate on the Northern line when the Northern City line is closed during evenings and weekends.

In service on a training run from Plaistow. Forgive me for being confused but I am still learning the correct terms. Can you clarify if it was a public accessible service or in non passenger service It was in passenger service.

The signaller at Whitechapel does have the ability to correct the misinformation (Olympia bound trains excepted!) but you may not have seen this if you boarded the H&C train. I did board the H&C train, so wouldn't have seen the change. Thanks for the info Colin.
