If it goes under it will be a subway, not a bridge.
I cannot see a bridge there as there will be a lot of work on the platforms and track to convert it for the DLR

The new platforms finally opened at 15.00 this afternoon, rather symbolical it was unit 313 101 to be the first passenger service to arrive in the new platforms.

That I assume was a total coincidence.

That I assume was a total coincidence. Likely as the station opened up 4 hours eariler than was expected by the management.

The stopping mark, right at the extreme east end of the bays, is hardly "customer-friendly". Surely, prior to longer trains and, maybe, OPO; they could berth mid-way? Thanks for the pictures, very smart isn't it? As for the extended walk, it'll do us all good. Very customer friendly if you ask me! Cheers Rich

So if you are going to Stratford, which end of the train do you sit?

So if you are going to Stratford, which end of the train do you sit? Funnily enough I was talking about this with a colleague only today. I usually sit or stand at the front whatever train I catch, Stratford being no exception. No real reason, always have.

What is the new track layout like there? I.e, how do trains reverse?

I.e, how do trains reverse? It looks like the trains reverse in the platforms.

Yep, just change ends and back out. There is a position light on the up so you can shunt between platforms.
Another benefit is that when we were going into the low level had to put the pan down at Hackney Wick and local instructions meant you could take no more than notch 2 power in DC meaning you could get at best 20-25 mph. Now there is no need to drop/raise pan at Hackney Wick and you can achieve linespeed between there and Stratford, also less hanging around waiting for the pan to go up/drop.

Noticed two class 313 units stabled in the platforms as well as the service train, is this a new practice?
