Will old Country-area buses also be on display at this Amersham event? I don't know. There is a classic bus running day at Amersham this year, but it's on 5 th October.

Talking of the LT museum & buses - anyone know what's happened to the Leyland National that was in Tubelines yard at Acton?

Bump. Is this event still going ahead, any ideas about tickets for SS and the 38 stock? Thinking about taking my children up there as they like tube trains for a treat and need a bit more info if its out there to plan something! Cheers!

According to the Amersham website www.amersham-tc.gov.uk/Contents/Diary/Detail.asp?SiteId=870&SiteExtra=4239063&TopNavId=19&NavSideId=12590&EventId=4860Vintage cars willl be in the High Street, which will closed to usual traffic. A heritage bus service will be running between Amersham-on-the Hill and Old Amersham and London Underground will be operating heritage trains on the Metropolitan Line to Amersham Station.

Sarah Siddons is now in the shed at Ealing Common Depot. Why is it always there when I'm NOT hiking Ealing Common?

It looks like tickets are now on sale. Details here. It's £20 for a day ticket, or £25 if you want to include the first train of the day, which is the 38 going from Harrow to Amersham via Watford (and presumably the north curve).

I thought I recognised that photo! www.flickr.com/photos/24772733@N05/2438800969/No, the LTM are not ripping my pix, I'd contributed that one to an internal LU photo database.

stunning repaint. Couldn't agree more! I like Crimson Lake - even painted one of my railway's engines into that colour this winter just gone.

I like the way they have tried to disguise the nameplates that LT made in the 50's (When they were repainted maroon) for the original MET ones, by adding extentions at each end. ;D

How come there was two engineering trains? I thought that sarah train was a DM not a TC At a guess, they were worried about it being gapped running "light" by itself. Locos run top and tailed as there is no through motoring control and to reverse into Ruislip depot.

Although the original plates were taken off as wartime 'salvage' for melting down enough survived, plus period photos, for new ones to be cast.

Sorry if I'm being thick, but on the LT Museum website ( www.ltmuseum.co.uk/whatson/131.aspx), it says: 'All tickets are then valid for unlimited travel on the Heritage Train services throughout the day (subject to space being available). ' So presumably, with my ticket for the first 1938 train, I can then go on Sarah Siddons? Or not?

There are two tickets available, a £20 one which lets you travel on all trains bar the first one, if you want to travel on the first one as well, then the price is £25.

I just bought a £25 ticket too. You would think that I was speaking an exotic language given the difficulties I had on the phone though.
