City and West Footscray 1-7-08What would usually be a busy platfrom at 8:25 but due to the weather everyone is inside. A Sydenham/Watergardens bound EDI refurb Comeng powers out of West Footscray. SCT Locomotive G511 leads a small freight on the Standard guage to Tottenham. G511 is one of a few G classes given to them from PN. G511 is currently on loan to QRN G511 under the Geelong Road bridge. Passing the Up Platfrom. About to fly under the footbridge. Looking towards Tottenham Yard. At the rear of the train sits CFCLA's EL60 and VL3xx and SCT's G535 which is Named the Kevin Sheedy Express. CFCLA is a hire out operator lending locomotives and rollingstock out to freight operators. Near Tottenham Yard. For some reason the train stopped and went the opposite dirction. Here EL is now in the lead. Passing West Footscray. While in the background A Siemens Unit arrives. 761M comes to a Stop. On the Left Standard Guage and on the right Broad Guage. G511 again. 637M leads a Sydenham/Watergardens service into West Footscray. 544M trails. VL 06 on a Southern Cross bound service. And in the opposite direction VL 07. Nearing a Journeys end NR6-XRBxxx-NR5 Pass Tottenham yard on thier way to Dynon yard where the train terminates. This train would originated from Perth or Adelaide. NR6. Still Passing! B2.2090 and B2.2103. B2.2063 heads up Spencer Street. Looking towards the City on the St.Kilda Light Rail. C.3011 on the Port Melbourne light rail. Looking towards the docklands. North Melbourne sidings are in the foreground. Melbourne's trying to outdo London with a big wheel. P12 sits with SH30 and another SH set and P14 on a Poor Mans XPT. This service would most likely form a Baccus Marsh service. Sprinter 7010 and another Sprinter on a Seymour Service. Lastly a bit of history from the 1980's. From West Footscray and from the same footbridge. V/line's X43 and another loco head out of Tottenham towards the City.

I was looking around the house and found the Old man's slides from the 80's and early 90's. Mainly from around suburban melbourne and Jolimont(where he worked for many years) Victorian Railways in the 80's/90's Part 1B64-T374-T380-T354 operate #216 Marybourgh Grain. The 80's saw the introduction of the Comeng trains. here 325M sits outside Jolimont Workshops in the Original Vicrail "teacup" livery. By the 90's all Comeng trains had this livery. It remained unchanged until privatisation. The only difference was the change of the logo behind between the cab door and passenger door. Here 386M sits in 16 road at Jolimont Workshops. Y175 leads a small freight into Spencer Street. B68 and a N set in the VicRail "Teacup" Livery at Spencer Street Station. A rather new looking X47 on display at Spencer St. The Long end of X47. L1156 was one of a few locomotives that were painted in this experemintal All over tangerine livery. These locomotives were built by English Electric and shipped over. L1165 sits in one of many sidings at Jolimont Yard. Electric locomotive E1106 in Jolimont Yard. Said locomotive is now stored in Newport by Steamrail Roads 6-12 at Jolimont Yard. Harris train 503M sits in Jolimont Yard. Harris trains(Known as "Blue trains") were named after Sir Norman Harris. The Chairman of Commissioners of the Victorian Railways between 1940 and 1950. They were built in 3 different builders. This one was built by Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Company. Harris 778M sits with its set in Jolimont yards. Inside an Harris in Original Condition. In the 80's a partial rebuild was on on a few of the Harris trains. However However, industrial and other problems with the with them only saw 16 refurbished. They mainly saw service on the Port Melbourne, St Kilda and Sandringham lines. Here 902M sits in the short lived Vicrail livery. It started life out as 713M before being refurbished. Now it lives on as V/Line car BCH134. Inside a refurbished Harris. The interor was made to look a lot like the Comeng. Inside an Hitachi car. Hitachi 235M in original condition S306 and a B class lead a passenger train. N456 and another N double head a passenger train into Spencer Street. Y119 and another Y arrive into Spencer Street with a 3 car h set. X54 and A7x lead a pass into SSS While A72 sits beside.
