I must say the Siemens stock looks quite nice. I also noticed that both the Siemens and the Alstom stock always seem to be double bubble.

I must say the Siemens stock looks quite nice. I also noticed that both the Siemens and the Alstom stock always seem to be double bubble. All suburban trains in Melbourne run 6 car trains(M-T-M-M-T-M) on weekdays till 7-8PM when they split the train to make(M-T-M). On Weekends they run 3 car(M-T-M) unless there is a sepical event (like the football) on in Melbourne. Then they will run 6 car trains. The Comeng-Seimens-X'Trap can all do this. The Hitachis Run as perment 6 car sets but still run as (M-T-M-M-T-M). You can think of the hitachis as the D-Stock of Mlebourne.

Can't wait, mate. Don't you have more pics of the trams? Oh, and is it true that the Siemens Stock has problems unloading and loading? Because Wikipedia says that. Just wanted to check, mate.

I don't have any more photos of trams yet. I have a trip planned in the September holiadays to go into town and take some pics. The problem with unloading and loading is that they have 2 doors per side. All other trains have 3 doors. Instead they have a wider door.(not that it helps people just crowd around the door)

I do hope you have been watching this space because....... CITY! Trams, Trains and Random pics!Permissive siginal D1291. It's 8:45AM. The Down Pakenham arrives. SW6.888 on its regular duty on the Free City Circle(or route 35). OOPS! My finger sliped! ;D All underground stations have this sign. Back on the street, W7.1020 is running an anti clockwise City Circle. W7.1020 Heads off while SW6.957 is in the distance. Both on City Circle duties. And while waiting Citadis C.3016 Crosses on a route 109 to Port Melbourne. A2.270 Departs one of few Superstops. A2.270 passes Citadis C.3011. I was suprised to see this thing at all. Z1.95 still in MET livery. At the Corner of Flinders Street and Swanston Street. B2.2068 on the route 75. SW6.957 departs. B2.2130 arrives at the Flinders Street superstop. It shouldn't take you long to know what that building is. Z1.86 heading north towards the University. The main entrance to Flinders Street station. B2.2032 on a 64 to Melbourne University. Z3.135 on a Melbourne University run. D2.5018(5 section combino) on a 16 to the University. D2.5018. Z3.169. Z1.100 is the last number of the Z1 fleet. It is operating a 72 to Camberwell. A 3 Section Combino is on a 3 to Malvern. B2.2085 on a 3 to Melb University. If you recall Z1.95 earlier well here it is again, this time heading to Glen Iris. D1.3536(3 section combino) on a 72 to Camberwell. Z1.88 on a 5 service. Z3.202 on a 1 service to South Melbourne Beach. Z3.135 on a 67 to Carnegie. D1.3533 on a 16 to Melb University. D1.3533. B2.2130 on a 1 to East Coburg. Speaks for its self. I hope. 378M on a Down Sandringham at Platform 8 at Flinders Street. Most Sandringham trains don't run through the loop on weekdays. The Nylex clock. Night time is the best time to see the clock. Siginals D91(Dandenong line), F91(Frankston line), B91(Sandringham line)

They are auto siginals. The train can pass it. But 10km/h(15km/h?) and stop short of any danger. This video of a news clip of a train accident in 89 shows a diragram of the lead up of the accident.(the diragram is from 2:11 onwards)

The Cab of 749M has in 6 people including the driver. The Comeng leaves and the Siemens is about to leave. I didn't expect this. One of the persons in the cab pulled out a camera. On examanation of the photo It looks like everyone is looking at me smiling! After the train went accross the crossing the horn was blown a few times. I didn't know what to think. Another day later and the sun is out. 828M on the rear of the Pakenham train.

Sunday Sparks at Newport530M slows down to stop at Newport on a UP Weribee. Siginal G415 Shows it's usual aspect. URL=http://img346.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dscf3246wv5.jpg] [/URL] On the other side of the tracks Steam Loco R761 sits and waits for its next turn of duty. 344M Leads a not in service train to Weribee 311M passes G415. G415 at red. G415 with Yellow over red. Standard Guage siginal 170 Shows red as another siginal shows red and the siginal proceeding G415. It gives a great difference between LED siginals and incandesent siginals. 438M on the rear of a Down Weribee. N453 with VN12 slow down to stop at Newport with a Up Warnabool service. N453 passes as R761 watches on. 1218-1118-1208-1108 Depart Newport on a South Geelong service. 1108-1208 on the rear. 464M passes G415 as it arrives at Newport. 343M leads another Not in service train to Weribee. 405M Rears up the train as it slows down to stop at the next signal proceeding G415. A "N" board. I think it means Normal speed. I'm not sure as Normal speed boards are "NS"

Westall The New Year. The Shunt leaves Westall yard. Using the Track outside the depot(Used more for APEX trains.I think). About to cross the cross over to the up. More recently the Wheels are making a lot more squeeling as they cross the points. 710M crosses over the points. Many Siemens trains are currnelty out of service due to breake problems. The Day later this pulled in. The interor of an Alstom Refurbished Comeng. EDI Refurb Comeng on the left. Alstom Refurb Comeng on the Right. 579M rears the Mixed set. 783M-T-M-M-T-M Departs Westall on a Cranbourne service. Vlocity 1133-1233-1123-1223. Vlocity 1206-1106 on a Southern Cross serivce. Hard to see that the PED crossing the train is passing over was once a Level Crossing for Westall Road(the road was duplacted and now goes over the tracks) 653M its 3 car set and another Alstom set. The Destos on these trains are very diffcult to read. 334M departs the depot. The Marker lights are red. This is a regular occurance with trains. Most of the time it's drivers foggeting to switch off the headlights as they switch the markers red. 1123-1113 on a Southern Cross service. The train I just left on the left(I walked from the front set of doors mind you). The driver got out and walked down the other end(after he opened up the wheelchair box(In Siemens trains its the 2 blue boxes on the front end of M cars. The cab is too small to fit them in) and checked the door and walked back. There was a bit of radio chat when we left Springvale.

Seconds after the Bairnsdale train went through Hitachi 23M and Co went through Empty. Note the Aircon on the right side of the roof.
