Has a timetable been published for the start of limited passenger-service ATP operation yet? I am curious to know if LU is anxious to start ATP use on the extension and remove the limitations on peak capacity that the current signalling enforces.

I suspect you are rather premature TOK - there's a still a fair percentage of trains awaiting an upgrade; and I think you'll find the trackside works are far from complete too.......... You never know though

There should have been 30 trains modded by now,the actual number is 8 done,1 in work & 1 awaiting sign off.So they're a little behind.I also think the c/o of the Queensbury/Kingsbury area to the new system has been put back, should've happenened early next year.

I also think the c/o of the Queensbury/Kingsbury area to the new system has been put back, should've happenened early next year. As far as we have heard, this will still take place this autumn. As for any new timetable, being as we are already running a timetable suitable for Stanmore's third platform, the ATO timetable will probably be out at the start of next year ;D Seriously though, the line running fully ATO will occur alongside the new signalling, which in turn will occur as the line is fully transferred to Neasden SCC. Apart from initial design work, this has not even begun to happen.

What is the difference in the Trains that have had the ATO mods and those that haven't (except of course they are ready to run on ATO) ?? I left the Jubilee in May but never drove one of the ATO modded trains (as far as I know) but I believe there were a few already around then.

I think the speedo display is different, other than that, try looking at sole bar level you should be able to see the extra cabling running the length of the cars.

The photos on the "Today" page at www.evra.org.uk/index2.htm show it got there by road transport. They don't give any indication though about how the batteries are recharged though.

Thanks for that info Chris. I remember having to learn how to reblock those bogies from the Standards. Double rigging and cast iron brake blocks - very hard work. Each brake block weighs 28lbs and you have to lift it with one hand while you drop the key in with the other. It looks like it still has a CP 30 compressor too - ex-Standard Stock or District Stock. Some of those compressors dated from before the First World War.
