6 cars are blue with "The latest Jubilee Line extension" on the side, the additional trailer is red with 17.7m in white on the side, apparently the length of one of the new cars, should have been on a press call at Stratford today, wasn't ready in time.Oh dear,Ken will be pleased, not!!!

I thought the cars were closer to 17.8m than 17.7m? Just being pedantic!

I thought the cars were closer to 17.8m than 17.7m? Just being pedantic! The wording on the wrapped car on unit 108/107 says 17.77m

Today it's on T314 stables SMD @ 20:16. After seeing this, I was sad enough to look up where T314 was working this afternoon, and picked it up after work. And sure enough, it was worth the effort - (train wasn't reformed or anything like that) - it was the seven car painted blue with a massive advert proclaiming how the Mayor of London is "transforming the tube", and the extra carriage in complete red! Its definitely gonna get blatant publicity running around - all we need now is for the train to break down in front of a TV crew for a perfect picture!

I've been carrying my camera around the last two days to try and catch this train (I commute on the Jubilee), and have seen just about every train apart from this one! I just know when I don't have my camera with me, it'll turn up!!

The first time I saw it came as a bit of a surprise. I was doing PA's on the platform in the peak and nearly ended one announcement by adding "and by the way, the train appears to have turned purple"!

Looking at this picture, I'm wondering how on earth it complies with the contrasting door colours requirement of the DDA?

Looking at this picture, I'm wondering how on earth it complies with the contrasting door colours requirement of the DDA? I was thinking exactly the same thing. There seems to be no contrast between the doors and car body.

Regards the DDA requirement, looking at the picture I think they have made the doors a lighter shade of the colour for said reason. It'd have to pass a safety case before it was let out, including an assesment on the DDA requirements... it must have been approved!

Sorry if I've offended anybody: my point is since it clearly DOES contravene the DDA, there must be some sort of excuse reason and we'd all like to know why. My tongue was firmly in my cheek, hence the smilies, but I was wondering out loud what the REAL reason TFL has trotted out for not complying.
Even if it has been approved (did they ask?) it still contravenes the spirit of DDA if not the letter of the law.

Given legislation these days, it's impossible to allow anything out without the HMRI having a say in it first, be it a repaint or refit.

Thinking along these lines, does the standard livery on the additional cars feature the white gap around the doors seen on refurbed D stocks?
