I must admit, I have to cringe at the current content offered to todays youngsters! Aye, I have to agree there. Whats happened to Postman Pat, Fireman Sam and those of that ilk? All it is now is action cartoons or soppy stuff like the Teletubbies (sp?). Talking of Fireman Sam, have you seen Double Triggers Version?  If not, go to Google Video and do a search for "Arson Sam"! ;D |

Postman Pat was on just an hour ago on CBeebies. Fireman Sam pops up occasionally.
I would have to say that, although maybe not the classics some of us grew up on, the content in general on Cbeebies (and mostly Nick jr) is pretty decent stuff for the youngest children.
At the end of the day though, as a responsible parent I do try and give my children around about the same tv watching time that I had - that being around an hour or two each day at most and not the available 6am to 7pm. I am hoping this means they will go on to explore the real world outside the front door rather than immersing themselves into a computer game throughout their teenage years.
