Today sees four pictures. Identify these, then find the odd one out. Whether you can do it solo, or work as a team is up to you. The pictures are named alphabetically for ease. Location A: Location B: Location C: Location D: *For all pictures, a larger version is available by clicking the image*

Ok I think C is Surrey Quays, and I don't recognise the others, but are they all Picc. stations, making C the odd one out? (Surely it's not that simple)

+1 for Surrey Quays; however I think the odd one out is something to do with change of line/ownership.
A is one of the Picc stations that was originally on the District, is B St. Johns Wood that was originally on the Bakerloo, now Jubilee, C is Surrey Quays that has been owned by umpteen railways and has now going to be part of the overground. Is the odd one out D that was built by the Picc and is still on the Picc - I half-recognise it, but am not sure of the name.

Is D Moorgate?
It could be the LU to BR transfer in 1975 in that picture.

I'm still plumping for the odd one out being related to change of ownership - unless of course all of them have changed owner/line affiliation *but* Surrey Quays is the only one that has been renamed from Surrey Docks to Surrey Quays.
This suggestion is, of course, contingent upon D being Moorgate.

A - Sudbury Town B - Swiss Cottage C - Surrey Quays D - Finsbury Park (which puts the alphabetical order bit in a mess).
I'm guessing that C is the odd one out - all the others used to be on other lines (A District, B Met, D Northern City)

B could be Southgate I thought. Surrey Quays is the only non-Holden one??

I don't recognise A as Sudbury Town, I can't recall a side entrance like that but then I only ever entered from a vehicle parked outside the front and usually in the dark! I thought B was Southgate but there are other possibilities. I recognised the pillars in C but was not thinking of Surrey Quays, I've only been there twice in daylight in 30 years! No question at all that D is Finsbury Park which I spotted immediately.

Well A,C & D aren't Ruislip Gardens
B WAS Ruislip Gardens before they moved it.
So B is the answer ;D

I've also thought of another reason for one of them being an odd one out - B be it any of St Johns Wood, Southgate or Swiss Cottage would never have had timetabled non-LT goods trains passing through it.

I thought A was Sudbury Town as soon as I saw it, but could be wrong!

Between you all, you have the locations correct. The odd one out is still the missing factor. Station A: Sudbury Town - Southwestern entrance. Station B: Swiss Cottage - bottom of escalators. Station C: Surrey Quays taken by Mackenzieblu Station D: Finsbury Park *All pictures have a larger version available by clicking the image* So, still looking for the odd one out......

Mmm, Surrey Quays is the only station which is not a Tube Lines asset.

I may be barking up the wrong tree here for the odd one out, but Finsbury Park tube platforms/station were originally built and owned by the GNR (as opposed to being built by the UERL and GN&C) and the station/platforms were leased to the Picc and Northern City. All the others AFAIK were built and owned by the original owning and operating railway comany.

Err, this might be a bit obvious, but "D" is the only one that does not begin with an "S"...

Surrey Quays is the only station that is/was served by sub-surface stock; the others are all served by tube stock.

In its previous incarnation wasn't Surrey Quays served by 1938 TS when used on the ELL?

Totally random-but Finsbury Park has the only true interchange. The others were either planned to have interchanges but don't/or they're rubbish! Swiss Cottage was to have an interchange with the Met, Surrey Quays was to have had a connection with the fleet line and Sudbury Town could have had an interchange with the Chiltern Line!
