4 - PSR: Permanent Speed Restriction, TSR: Temporary Speed Restriction.
5 - Yellow: distants/route controls, Red: stop signals, Blue: king levers/FPLs, Black: point levers, Zebra: detonator placers (?)

Barking has three IMRs? Where?
When I said "zebra", I was of course referring to a chevron arrangement. As for yellow, I can't think of anything else that LU could have used them for, other than distants or route control levers.

1 barking is correct there are as follows barking main(underneath cabin), barking east (upney end of sidings)and barking west (barking end of sidings) 2 wrong look at the question again thats when they are suppose to be running there trains on the line but not running the day to day operations of it ca55ie all IMR's have mechanical frames be it air operated and cabins like whitechapel and edgware road where there is still manual operation right black and white is deffo not a lever colour well not on lul anyway and im only talking about current colours not old ones like green = t/d set up i gave you the king lever but to my knowledge it is not used anymore in places like barking where they ahve automatic working and various other places this is done with switches which changes the lever operations circuit to ignore the lever trying to go back normal (danger) and keeps it reverse (clear) come to think of it barking does not have the A sign to say its in auto working like others i.e south ken, embankment there is a zebra/stripe arrangement but whats the colours and what they used for ?

and collin you and the other district drivers go over the blockjoint everyday and btw its not in the new bit in the city it was put outside to see how it re-acted in wet conditions as earlier blockjoint design involved a rubber strip to go between the rail and the plate and as you guess that got wet and shorted the tracks together thus giving a track circuit failure

What does a release lever do?

a release lever will by-pass some contacts in the lever lock circuit so the signal lever will go back to normal and thus allowing the same route or different route to be set
eg if a signalman selects the wrong route and lets the signal clear and the train has already approached the signal then he will have to take a release which there is normally a 120sec time delay before the signal lever will go back to the normal position and releasing any points involved

Fascinating. It sounds like a more genteel way of lifting the lock
