Yes: Press the 'quote' button at the top of this post and you will see the code needed to wrap around the url (http: etc) to do so.

So I cannot use any pictures that are stored on my computer without uploading them to somewhere else first?

Correct, you have to use an image hosting site like flickr, or imgur, of if you are lucky, from your own personal server like Chris M - it's not too hard to do

So I cannot use any pictures that are stored on my computer without uploading them to somewhere else first? Yes. It's annoying but if forums were to allow users to upload photos to the their servers they would be committing themselves to providing (and funding) almost unlimited amounts of space for said photos.

I understand that class411. Some of the forums I am a member of allow it some don't for exactly the reason you stated. The downside of outside the forum hosting is that pictures hosted elsewhere usually results in a lot of broken links in the forum. Thank you for letting me know though. Much appreciated.

And don't forget size matters as we'll Rule 8 (images) (8a) All images posted should be hosted by yourself (click here to find out how to do this) to prevent copyright issues; otherwise please use a link and credit the copyright owner. Images on the forum are subject to limits affecting both pixels and file sizes: (8b) Avatars - Max size 150x150 pixels*, 150Kb (8c) Signatures - Text: max 5 lines / Image: max size 80x500 pixels, 100Kb Combination of text & image allowed, but image must reduce in size to accommodate text ( ) Images within a post - Max size should ideally be around 800x500 pixels*, 300Kb* *= Proboard's default maximum *= Images are automatically scaled to prevent page stretch issues, however we do prefer that you post images within the limits stated so that your image is viewed at its best across all internet enabled devices.

Thanks for your help folks.
'bigal' - I normally share the images from my flickr account, keeping within the size limits. They appear like this: Westminster by DH73., on Flickr I'm sure that someone will always help if you're still not sure. I look forward to your pictures

Blimey, when was that picture of Westminster taken? It all looks a little different there these days, iirc.

I've never seen Westminster looking any different, but then I've not been through there for decades!
Seems like me and Bigal both have problems downloading pics to this site then, which is a bit of a pain as we worked together on the DR and both have interesting "inside" shots that are of interest; last days of steam at Lillie Bridge, and Bigal's pics inside Lillie Bridge...
