I had a nice time with some friends on Wednesday.
We chose to sit in the second carriage knowing the first wouldn't be our kind of fun.
My only gripe is that at Harrow, did the train really have to leave the platform so fast! I felt that was a little unkind.
What I believe is wrong though is having the "If you have a problem with me, move, I don't care about you" attitude. A little respect can go a long way...
Anyway, C stock next I suppose...

Would anybody be kindly able to advise what time T750 is scheduled off the depot tomorrow morning? I would like to be in a position to photograph the train on its empty journey up to Moorgate. I would imagine its about 0845?

The behaviour of some individuals on the last pax run, and their postings about it, is a pointer to why some "more experienced" contributors no longer post on here. If the Farewell Tour generates a repeat performance, I fear for the prospects of any future tours. The farewell tour won't be like that, simply because only a limited amount of people can be there, meaning everyone will be sitting down, with no real need to be standing and shouting in a large group.

I was present at some point for some or all of every trip, in full LU uniform, except the first n/b from the depot. I did not witness anything that I considered required specific intervention. Perhaps my greatest concern was regular commuters (NOT ENTHUSIASTS) using the interconnecting doors freely as if they were on an S stock train. It is true that their was some fairly boistrous enthusiasm from some of the younger enthusiasts in one of the cars. It is fair to say that this will not have been everyone's cup of tea, though I wasn't in that car on the final trip. I gather many videos were spoilt by the swearing of an older gent at Harrow! These are issues of respect for others, there is a balance to be found, but they should not be blown out of proportion! Any incursions beyond the barriers were frankly minor and insignificant and on the platforms and I never saw anyone unqualified going down ramps or anywhere near track. I never saw anyone doing anything dangerous overall and allowing for the vast numbers present and the desire for everyone to get at least a reasonable attempt at some photographs of a moment in history everyone seemed to be both reasonable and safe. A few people stood on platform seats or salt bins... so what! These things are mis-used daily by the locals and no-one says anything to them! I can certainly tell you all that when you are on a train that passes through a station when the football kicks out you will know all about it. The last A stock has nothing on that hell. Chanting, singing, swinging on the hand rails and jumping up and down on the car floor and seats are normal and that's just the supporters of the winning team! Late night services can have an equal mix of singing and rowdy behaviour. Football and late night services do also get damaged from time to time! So keep it in perspective! I fear, as usual, the excessive complaints being raised here do these events no favours and blow the whole thing out of all proportion, so that the "powers that be" when reading them will feel justified in preventing such events occurring in the future, when such steps would be wholly unjustified! Extra security measures will be taken ... railway enthusiasts are a soft target. Football matches disrupt the railway, railway specials don't. Extra security would be better deployed on a match day or in the evening, not a running day!!! Deal with people drinking alcohol on my trains every single day... with their feet on seat cushions, holding doors open, abusing station staff and countless other incursions ... then after dealing with that, look at minor inconsequential transgressions by rail enthusiasts. Also the "disruption to the running railway" was caused by some LU officials plan changes and co-operation refusals ... lets not go there! Again nothing to the disruption a football match causes! Lets keep it real! It was a great day. A few things were minor irritants for a few people, but everyone was safe and well behaved and a common sense approach was taken to getting pictures. The A stock had a great send off and LU should see the day as a great success with good publicity and should be delighted to run many more special train workings! +2 , I wholeheartedly agree with the comments above.

I think those who are declaring the 'enthusiasm' as bad need to look back on what they have posted. There were 8 other coaches on the train, and while we were in every coach we NEVER at any point extended 'banter' to other parts of the train we always kept to one part. Why did we do this? Oh yes to address other peoples opinions and keep noise levels to one area, so others were able to enjoy the trip, of which they did. Now, those of you that are suggesting the large group was swearing, that is incorrect, there was no swearing, what there was, was a load of shouting, at an inappropriate level I admit, but the term 'enjoying yourself' covers that very strongly.
For example, in one of the trailer coaches the noise level was exceptional and there was a huge amount of mess on the floor. This was upon leaving Harrow-On-The-Hill, when the train had arrived at Euston Square, the noise level had GONE and the mess had been cleared up. Now, none of you handbags can condemn this as a mess was made and was cleaned up after, and noise was never an issue along the whole journey.
For the final rides, it was one person making the rest of the group mainly shout and be totally insane, and this isn't pinning the blame on someone as we were all out to have a nice day out. I feel very very low from reading all these comments, as I went out to enjoy myself, have a laugh, have a bit of fun, and upon coming home I read that a few of you didn't just feel it was over the top, you wanted to clamp down a bit. Perhaps just a quick word in the ear that the group were being over the top would have done better? As clamping spoils what is, in all terms just having fun.
Look at Amersham for example, you had LOADS of people walking all over the ramps, down the track whatever, I saw no point at all where someone was asking them to get back, and the staff there had no problem with it? Why aren't you clamping down on that? Why PICK on the younger generation. I respect the managers view in that the noise was grossly over the top and the actions were over the top, I am completely fine with that view and it won't be liable to happen again as there really isn't much need.
Take the very very last trip, there was hardly any massive noise going on during that, it was all just laughter and enjoyment, you had both sadness and happiness in the air as you had friends coming together to witness the end of an important part of British history. So this leads to me conclusion that the behavior of the 'younger' lot was over the top at times, but it wasn't enough to spoil it for others, as you get that in any walk of life as mappman1000 was saying.
For my final paragraph, the railtour will be nothing like it as it is an important moment when the very last unit will run in that condition, in this time, and in service for London Underground.
If you have taken the time to read this, then I thank you.

Only half keeping pace with this discussion. Seems the line between enthusiasm and rude/annoying people may have been crossed. Its a fine line but it is there.
I don't know whether to be looking forward or dreading tomorrow as the end of an era.
Do we know which unit(s) are working the railtour? There was talk of the two RATS at some point...

Hello All I'm not going to rant on about anything with regards to Wednesday's trip but what i will say is that as a member of the railway i have been involved with the running of many railtours and have experienced this behaviour before. Shall we just get on and enjoy this last trip that we have all paid a fare price for and prove to London underground that if the wish to do farewell tours in the future people will react in a responsible manner. Its a win win situation for all. Just respect everyone's view on the tour will be different and the gates at the end of the platform are there for a reason and no matter how much you love A stock it does not mean you can pass them! As its the safety element caused by this that will ruin any chance of future trips for all. Enjoy the day all

I have a stock of old VXC 'Today, this is the quiet coach' labels somewhere. Do we need them for tomorrow?!

They won't be required, as tomorrow is an organised railtour, with the passengers all being of the same interest - it isn't a customer service as T412 was on Wednesday.
Minor tweaks have been made (mainly by me, so slate me on here Sunday) to some of the schedule to hopefully allow certain (photographic) opportunities if everything works out - a couple more than had already been catered for I hope.
Provided everyone plays ball, and keeps to the customer areas of the railway - unless they have permission to access the track, have contacted the controller (me tomorrow) and are wearing suitable hi-visibility clothing - and generally keeps the day in the spirit that is intended, then no doubt future events will stay on the cards.

....Minor tweaks have been made ... to some of the schedule... Does that compromise the durations of the short break at Harrow midday?, or the main break at Amersham? (the letter companying the ticket said plan, and I'm planning! ;D ) ...the controller (me tomorrow)... We're in good hands then

My pre-tour plan: take a photo of it on its way in at Willesden Green then straight to Moorgate for the start. How does it sound?

Willesden Green would make a good photo, but you might have to be careful you don't get bowled by a Jubilee Line train.

I won't be going tomorrow (wife and I had something planned a long time before, and she can't understand why the fudge I went on Wednesday night anyway), but I hope things run smoothly and the day goes well.
But I also hope that everyone who's fallen out with someone on the 'Yob Element' thread, which I'm sorry I started and I'm glad that one of the mods has locked it, I hope that they can kiss and make up tomorrow.

I'm nicely perched on a Guard's tip down in 5062, our car steward is lovely and the atmosphere friendly. I'll post snaps from the day on my Twitter, if you don't follow me clicking the button below should have the desired effect.

5118 and 5089 will do T750 on Saturday. Oh right, I therefore assume a problem occurred with this formation, or it was thought better to use the dolled-up units on this. I imagine this changes the 717 diagram for Monday?
