Just to confirm train 717 was topped and tailed by 5532 and 5575. The timings I was shown were just for today so is that the last scrap train to Northwood? Someone mentioned the rest going from Acton.
Would post a photo but both ends had some graffiti.
RAT passed Northwood northbound 13.10 - not on the schedule posted elesewhere. Went shopping at Moor Park just before going to Northwood. On return to station platforms 1 & 2, normally locked during the day, were unlocked and an Aldgate bound train went down the fast line shortly afterwards. Spotted another about 20 minutes later. First time I've seen fast lines between Moor Park and Harrow used during off peak for scheduled trains although seen Harrow to Wembley Park several times.

If not, what else was forming the train, and is any of it to return from Northwood? I believe all A stock workings of 717 were 8-car - is it possible to coast a 4-car far enough down the siding?

I can assist here What happened was, that the Uxbridge road was suspended for a while earlier on today, so some trains diverted to Watford instead. With the extra trains from Uxbridge running, some ex-Rickmansworth trains were diverted via the main line to avoid congestion on the local lines As for the RAT, there is a 'run as required' trip earlier in the day - this was not carried out at the booked time, so the extra trip you saw was laid on instead! The C stock came at an interesting time, in amongst the additional trains from Uxbridge! Made the end part of my shift go quickly anyway ;D

Thanks as ever 21146, I did have the offer from test crew to divert the train to Rickmansworth (so I could see it!) to reverse, but knowing there may be people out there waiting for it at various places thought it best to keep to the Watford plan! I knew I'd get to see the train in action one way or another

Car 6575 promptly dispatched onto a low loader and taken away to Eastleigh.

Reminded me of the CP motor that had a sideswipe in the 70s and went for scrap. This was irronically the car with the experimental C stock doors!!

Great to see this stock going - good riddance. Not a lot of damage to the train but not worth repairing. I watch the video and it looked like "Dr Death"( (Dave) the infamous enthusiast/photographer/dangerous idiot from Exeter might on the platform at Northwood, I could be wrong - the guy with the flat cap?

XF Thankfully you are wrong, the Gentleman wearing the flat cap at Northwood is a well respected, (very) long serving photographer of London's transport for over 70years.

That is good news, however I encountered Dr Death at Penzance earlier this year I am glad I was wrong as he is a danger to himself and others around him! XF

Like many on here I'll be glad to see the C Stock go, despite it being the first stock I ever rode in. They look very scruffy and the air is very stale. But at least they aren't stuck together with chewing gum.

sticks toe out into piranha infested waters ;D ;D ;D I for one will be sorry when the C Stocks go... and I speak as an enthusiast. I've just returned from Naples this evening, and having rode Italian suburban and Metro units for the past 3 days, believe me when I say that they are in good nick for their age. They've been an outstanding, under-rated and much maligned workhorse for the past 4 decades, overlooked by many who see the more glamorous stocks such as the A, D and 73ts units. They've done their job well (transporting as many people as possible around the capital and quickly as possible) and when the time comes to say goodbye, I hope that they have as good a send off and the A Stock units did last month.... I also have an ulterior motive, in that they will be the last Underground stock in service that pre-date me.... the C69s that is... and believe me, when that happens, that's a sobering thought

Indirectly yes the C69 stock did replace the Q stock but so did the A stock. The first round of scrapping took place as a result of the A62 stock displacing the (C)P stock onto the District.
I like the C stock too, and certainly prefer them to the S stock. I'd rather travel on the Rome MetRO trains which looked knackered but sounded great!
