Have just seen at Finchley Road (8:36 going south) a Jubilee line train wrapped in a Jubilee livery, red white and blue, I think sponsored by O2, I only got a brief look. What I did notice was that the doors are not marked in any different colour, which I thought they had to be.

The press notice from TfL says there's two trains launched today.

Suppose 2012 is supposed to represent East London, what with it being graffiti, and the Diamond Jubilee represents the Queen, because she to is..4 years old.
FGW's take isn't showing up. I like Greater Anglia's offering, but I have no photo.

Will be interesting if O2 is the sponsor of these trains - and if the trains remain in service in their Jubilee livery during the Olympics.

Only part of the doors are visible in that photo, but they don't seem to be in a 'contrasting colour'.

Infantile childish Diamond Jubilee logo - though of course LU can't be blamed for that. So different to the tasteful designs used in 1977 and 2002. Says all about Britain in 2012 to me. www.flickr.com/photos/24772733@N05/7210170488/in/photostreamAnd I'm sure it breaks DDA livery rules! Make your own mind up.

It would look a lot nicer without the logo and flag-bunting-thing, whatever that is..
Do you have any pictures of 1977 and 2002? All I have is a 2002 tube map.

From Annie Mole:
TfL have pointed out that the decorative wraps have been funded by Tube Lines "at no cost to the tax payer".
Which sort of implies Tube Lines is still a private company.
Maybe the staff had a whip-round after work?

That livery is just far to cluttered and cheap looking. I agree the designs of 2002 were nice indeed, it would have been nice to see a 96 stock in the simple gold and purple livery that was applied to a few buses at the time. Here is an example of said, tasteful livery: (not taken by me I add) www.flickr.com/photos/mcw1987/5107309974/

I'm not normally bothered by the strange and wonderful advertising schemes applied to trains as it doesn't really affect their performance and I can't see them when I'm sat or stood inside.
However in this case...............
It's pretty terrible isn't it? Shabby and cheap looking. Reminds me of an infant school web-site produced exclusively by an intimidating teacher whose colleagues were afraid to explain to her the urgent need to get professional help.

I personally think the livery is excellent (except maybe the doors because they aren't different, but making them different would ruin the flag...)
...apart from the logo. PLEASE remember that this is the 'official' logo and unfortunately it's been chosen somehow as the logo to represent this year's Jubilee. TfL obviously didn't design the logo so you can't blame them for that - for example they couldn't ask Emirates to change their logo for the Dangleway!
Personally I would think just about anything is better than that logo... but otherwise I love the livery!

It does look slightly tacky and messy looking! and It does look childish but this livery won't be around long I think it would have been better in an Olympics 2012 livery

Reminds me of the late-1960s when the Royal Mail ran a competition to design Christmas stamps in association with the Blue Peter TV programme. I sent off my design, as 'adult' as I could achieve - with correct perspective etc. Of course under Tony Benn's Postmaster-Generalship, the chosen winners looked like they were done by a Special Needs school.

There is one slight snagg with trying to design a fitting livery.
Silver and Gold are straightforward, but what colour is Diamond...

I don't see why the line was named Jubilee Line at all as it opened in 1979 which was not a Jubilee year. It was simply a gimmick by London Conservatives to garner support for the party in the 1977 GLC elections. As for the Jubilee itself, the country is in recession and I admire HM The Queen for asking her government in February 2012 to limit the spending of public money on public Jubilee celebrations and festivities. The painting of underground trains to celebrate the event appears totally unnecessary and rather tacky.

If I were a cynic, I would suggest that some of these names and designs are simply fawning in an attempt to get knighthoods or other "status" titles for (Sir) R. Slickers, the decision makers in suits (O.B.E.), and others at the very top of the greasy pole.
Thank goodness I'm not a cynic
Not ANOTHER Jubilee already!! Yawn.
