Good evening all, A friend of mine was on the Jubilee line this evening, he noticed that on some trains the whole seat design had been changed and fitted with the new barman moquette as seen on the 1992ts refresh. Also lately I have noticed the door indicator light bulbs have been replaced with LED's and the cabfronts seem to have recieved a clean recently on some units. Update: Some of the units with the interior treatment: 96002, 96038 and 96115. Apparently there are more but these are the only ones my friend wrote down.

Wow!!! But how many trains are they actully fitting with this moquette!! If they fit it too anymore then it will actully start to look quite generic but brilliant pics thank you!!! Are they still springy??? Or a they hard like the 378s??

The springy seats are being removed due to the problems with the springs poking through the moquette.
It will take some time to do all the fleet of 63 trains, as only 1 train is available to be worked on each day, (Monday to Friday).

Whoa, I certainly didn't expect to see that! Well, to be honest while they will never beat the original 1996 stock moquette, they are still a darn lot better than the current 'Tubelines' blue one. Speaking of the original, let's hope complete 1996 MkIIs are excluded from this programme!

That would be good, I like the novelty of still having the old moquette on the mark IIs, if not then I hope they will start selling it at the LTM shop. Also glad they aren't changing the seat design as I find the 1995/6 stock seats are a lot comfortable than other stock.

The only time I have noticed the springs digging into your rear was on the 96ts, glad they are fixing it! But lets hope the perfectly find springy seats on 73ts and 95ts are not touched!

Oh thats a shame about the springyness of these seats does anyone know if the 95 stock will have this too? Because the seats on them are in far better condition than the 96 stock. The 1973 stock is also having new seats, but the LTM are running a competition for a new moquette that will be interesting.

Disappointed. You beat me to it by 24 hours! Saw 26002 earlier today and have been remembering the number all day to put it on here lol! Looks much better than what it does on the 1992 Stock

I wouldn't say horrendous, the 1992 stock pre-refresh was horrendous! But there are some issues like minor exterior paint work and interior damage from vandalism on both the 1995/6 stock that are mounting up and gradually looking making them look shabby.

Personally I would say the 96ts are looking worse. The roundels are cracking, the cab roof domes are cracked and taped up on most, various stickers are wearing off, the interiors are looking shabby. The 95ts however is still excellent

The cushions still look relatively deep in the pic at the top. Its suprising how the springs are poking through the moquette; how comes this isn't such a pressing (or indeed noticeable)problem on other stocks?
Or is it just another excuse to use and make cheap tacky seats?

I wonder why... the Barman moquette is supposed to be 'industry standard' for all LU lines...

The new seats look nice but the 1996 stock does not really suit them that well. They do however look better on the 1992 stock.

I quite like this moquette - interesting now there are 3 versions of moquette available! Hope they don't get rid of the ones with the old moquette too soon (never got a train with the old moquette on yet - rushed to jump on one at Wembley Park but alas it was going to the siding rather than to Stanmore )

I've noticed a couple of sets recently with additional anti-access devices between cars.
Is this new and part of the refresh ? Or something else but equally new ?
The devices are a series of black triangular wedges in two external vertical rows one each side of each communicating door, but staggered vertically with respect to the adjacent car so they would sort of interlock if moved very close.
I guess their function is to stop persons falling from between cars, rather than the inter car barrier blocks.
Despite using the Jubilee about 3-5 times each week I first noticed these only late last week so it must be something fairly recent.
Apologies if this has appeared in a different thread.

I noticed them today was about to make a post here infact! Maybe this will mean that when the whole fleet gets those barriers fitted, just like the Bakerloo they can close all doors and head off into the siding without messing around on the platform

There are a couple of 96 stock units out there that have a mixture of moquettes. I've noticed a couple in the past where the normal blue moquette has obviously been ripped or damaged and been replaced by the old moquette on a couple of seats

These new seats may as well be wooden benches to perch on. Rock hard - I had the *pleasure* of sitting on one yesterday on the JLE. Not too bad there as the track is pretty good, but I wouldn't like to be sitting on it at speed on the rough bouncy track north of Finchley. Why do the 96's keep having springs popping through - is the seat cushion that different to other stocks?

Proper sprung seats being made for the 1967 stock at 10 mins and 10 seconds. Those springs never popped through!

Proper building methods back in the 60's! Things were made to last hence why the 1967 stock and A stock lasted for so long! Today everything or most things anyway are built on the cheap with hardly any quality control methods things don't last long these days!

Half of that stuff in the manufacture of the 67ts in that video, if it were nowadays would be adhesives galore.
