Yes, it is Nick hurd, he used to be my MP before moved from Northwood. He's seems pretty good actually, well until now....
Perhaps the PMT would like to visit all the Watford branch stations off peak? They may have to fight their way onto the train however ;D

Interesting meeting at Chesham Town Hall on Tuesday night with Angela Back and team. Clearly lots of anger and frustration about new timetable, especially off peak. Think this is unlikely to go away as the meeting revealed some big issues in terms of the decision making process and ago us on numbers instead of people's requirements.
On the plus side for LU, people generally like the S stock.

That's good to know as all they ever tell us is the usual old line of "lots of positive feedback"! I know that they seem to think the people of Croxley and Watford don't need as many trains as Northwood Hills and North Harrow!!!

Some of my colleagues live in Uxbridge. Apparently they aren't very happy either because of the loss of through Aldgate trains.
I also wonder about the issue of Harrow on the Hill travellers losing their fast off peak services - when the infrastructure is sitting there largely idle off peak, it seems a strange use of scarce assets.

Well, it seems like Mr Hurd is not happy about the Met line timetable and upgrade works!! If you're unhappy with the Met line, particularly with the new timetable, why not take his survey! www.nickhurd.com/metropolitanline

"proposed" new trains? Already? Nice picture of some Piccadilly stock showing he has no idea what he's on about. And in answer to his questions - many years from now, sorry mate. Lucky to have a tube service at all!

Didn't realise the Picc ran to Northwood!
He and his constituents have new trains being introduced, my line does not. their line is not shut every weekend for the forseeable future, unlike mine and they have alternative underground routes nearby, thanks to the Central line, unlike me. I think some people should be thankful for what they have, and think of those who have worse public transport connections.
And what has a Virgin Pendolino got to do with HS2?

Not holding my breath though. :-)

I was more subtle and just put more trains skipping Pinner as it now has too many

Might have been more sensible to have said something he may take notice of, and add to the list of staff and passengers who are answering the survey telling him what a rubbish timetable it is!!

Slightly off-topic: Top Banana. Saves me campaigning to get one built in the Hughenden Valley for HS 2. <smile> Further off-topic:
Bring on the nuclear power stations - unless or until this country is prepared to make significant investment in tidal schemes anything apart from nuclear is a load-smoother (and a slightly erratic one at that).
Even further off-topic:
I've lived in the fall-out plume of two UK nuclear plants, and bask in the possibility of most of the northern French ones going 'ping' and depositing corium on the bedrock. <shrug>

The other day the train I was on from Ruislip to Harrow changed from an all-stops train to a semi-fast between Harrow and Wembley Park. When we arrived at Harrow there was an all-stops train on platform 1, presumably from Watford, Amersham or Chesham.
How often does this happen?
As there was obviously some delay to one or other of these trains it made sense to re-form one of them as a semi-fast. However it would have made more sense to have timetabled one of them to have been non-stop in the first place.
One positive aspect is that the S-stock train on platform 1 did wait for passengers to transfer, even if the doors disconcertingly closed automatically just as our train pulled into platofrm 2!

I think you got your platforms mixed up at Harrow? Do you mean the Southbound platforms 5&6?

The first thing I ever learned as a driver on the Met was that from Baker St Northbound, platform 1 was always on the left as you went North and always on the right when running on the South ;D ;D

And this still remains on the stations to Aylesbury (it seems a bit inappropriate at Aylesbury!)

i was looking at the tube map and noticed pinner has wheelchair access and looks to be the only station to do so for some distance,i was wondering if this a major factor in all trains now using the slow line.
the tube doesn't look wheelchair friendly in terms of access the central line appears one of the worst.
