I saw an A-stock train at Great Portland Street eastbound last week with white lights fitted to a trailer bogie, lighting the rails. Perhaps it had cameras or other recording equipment too that I couldn't see. Is this the RAT unit? Shame I didn't note down any car numbers, but I didn't really notice how special it was unit after it had departed, when I realised it hadn't opened its doors. Its just a normal 8 car A-stock with cameras on the front It was operating T775 Track Auto Visual Inspection Train

Does this help us to try and guess what will be joining 5064 on Monday?
Last night I saw...

Does this help us to try and guess what will be joining 5064 on Monday? Well, all I do know Metman is that 5022 was formed up with 5106 and 5151 was formed up with 5076 and I've not yet noted these 2 units formed up with anything else.

And as they are both A end units they cannot be paired! We shall have to see.

I think graeme186 meant that 5022 and 5151 are not formed with another unit. And as 5064 is double ended, then it could be either of them. Although maybe it could be that two A end units could go at the same time, as 4-car units can run empty with an inner DM leading, so as long as both units were the same way round it might not be a problem. Actually, wasn't there an issue with the couplings when an S stock was coupled to the outer DM of a single ended unit?

I don't believe the wedgelock couplers at the outer ends of these units are actually wired to allow running. They act like the 73ts and 3 car 72ts cars in that they are mechanical only now, I think?!

Formation changes: 5050+5221 & 5076+5100. Just 5012 (I think) unaccounted for at the moment.
There are a couple of typos in the 19/09 posting above. Should read 5124+5193 & 5040+5163.
Separately re 5124+5193, this train stalled on the approach to pfm6 at Harrow this morning causing delays of 5-10 minutes or so to a few services around 8am. It managed to reach pfm6 where I imagine it remained for the remainder of the peak. The driver of my train which was held at Pinner for 5 or so minutes indicated that brakes had locked on the stalled train and that this had caused a burning smell. There were plenty of update messages from my driver which were no doubt extremely welcomed by the customers on my train.

Formation change: 5012+5193.
It would appear that it was 5124 that suffered the defect yesterday morning at Harrow.
