Why would the line controller decided to run any A Stocks now? What rolling stock/cars forms trains for the day is not a decision a Line Controller can make, this is up to a Duty Depot Manager (DDM). Whoever... But I really don't get it... why even run A Stocks at all now, even if a few are available? I love the A Stocks. I've used them since 1987, but surely it's better to just use 1 stock now. |

It will be very rare to see any A stock outside the peak now, plus the odd peak trip that does run will only be to make sure they are kept in working order a bit longer. Don't forget they are only standby for the Olympic's which does not mean they will be used during the Olympic's as there are enough spare S stock to provide extra's if needed. |

Didn't see any in service but 5022 (51 years in service tomorrow) was shunting at the north end of Neasden depot with a.n.other at about 10.15-ish this morning.

Three in service this evening forming evening peak only trains 472, 474 and 477. 5022 is now formed up with 5091 and formed T474 this evening. 5034+5063 was the train left in Neasden Depot this evening. Excellent service tonight....everything bang on time.

Yes, was good to see 3 A's out yesterday, even if they were all single round trips then stable back in Neasden!
Wonder if they'll keep the A stock on T443 all day today?

443 12.25 BST -WAT and return still the 'A' 5189/5118 as reported earlier.

It then runs on the Aldgate - Uxbridge route, not stabling until 00:58, so a chance for some to grab a ride this evening (if it stays as an A stock).

Is there any way that information could be released on a daily basis from the operators about what A stock is proposed to run?As they are of heritage status it would increase interest in their movements before final withdrawl.

Yes Dstock7080 and others have been very helpfull. The person I spoke to yesterdat said that they try and run at least one a day to keep them in working order. I'm hoping to see 5034+5189 on the farewell tour. As the first car in service and the last A62 left it would be special! Any news on what's out today? |
