what is the sort of timescale for the amersham and chesham ends of the met line to see s stock on a regular basis? I would say later in the summer, around August/September to be honest. There are many different things going on at the moment, but given the timescales we've become accustomed to, that forecast seems about right for a lot of the things all coming together.

Only train I can see that would fit that (out of the ones previously posted) would be a T451 19:45 Baker St-HotH run cut short at Wembley Until the reversing siding at Harrow is upgraded (power supply-wise) this is a regular move. The train is normally taken out of service at Wembley on the northbound - although sometimes it may be necessary to remove it from service at Harrow on its previous southbound working.

There was an 'S' Stock in Harrow reversing siding this morning (28/04/11) at about 0750. Presumably, the power upgrade is complete?

That was probably the one that went defective in front of me at Wembley, about 30 minutes earlier. The traction current arrangements in Harrow siding haven't changed yet, but S Stock can still access it subject to a procedure being followed.

going to London on Sunday and having to get train from Northwood. Hoping to be at the station around 10.30. Is there any chance of getting an S Stock around this time and if so when? Cheers

Weekends are the worst time to catch one at present unfortunately. I haven't seen anything detailing weekend trips for this weekend, but then never say never...

Took my first ride on an S stock this pm. An absolute delight - cool, comfortable and a smooth ride. Definitely the future of LU. My only gripe was the bars being yellow instead of maroon! Certainly a different class from the hot, dirty, noisy old A stock I had to take back...

Also, without giving too much away, over the next week or two, if one were to walk onto a cut-and-cover platform, they might be more regularly treated (or not if you're metman )

Hey, it's not as if they're all gone now - you've got a long while to go before it gets to the stage that the 67 stock is at, where you have to stand at a platform for hours on end before an old train comes past - it's quite the reverse at the moment

Let's not be that pessimistic! We will be starting to move things 'up a gear' very shortly! Come along learned colleague, there was no pessimism intended. I am fully aware of the upcoming planned change to things, but at the same time wanted to keep an element of realism. Aim high but advertise low and all that Given we don't have a timetable yet and it's more a lucky dip of trains versus trained operators

Although I am sure some people already know 431 and 441 are out at the moment, possibly more though but doubt it Edit : just had 465 from Finchley Road to Baker Street and had a chat with a really nice guy, might have been an I/Op?

According to the s stock workings list the 8.26 from Chesham tomarrow is an s stock. I just phoned LU to confirm this but was told no s stocks are running beyond Moor Park in the Amersham/Chesham direction yet. Knowing that this in itself is incorrect, does anybody know for sure from previous experience whether it will be an s stock. Its just I was planning to go on it if it was. Cheers

They're talking out their backsides. The S stock has been to Chesham plenty of times in service.

Very late evening workings.
Not sure about during the day. MetControl knows what he's on about though - of course the stock allocators at Neasden might not stick it out, but that's the trains they should run on.

This mornings 8.26 ex Chesham is A stock. Yep picked it up from Baker St at 0727 N/B. Two drivers on a mission, that's got to be the fastest time from Baker St to Chesham . If not the fastest I've traveled on the single trk. Superb...

This mornings 8.26 ex Chesham is A stock. In my thread with the workings there were a couple of things I meant to add. The first was the disclaimer thing that Colin has since covered in his post on that thread. The second, was that 472 for today will be A-stock before the part where it goes to Neasden depot, and S-stock this afternoon. This is due to the fact that 472 starts from Uxbridge, and there wasn't scope to stable an S-stock in Uxbridge for the weekend. 472 should be S-stock throughout tomorrow. Sorry of this caused anyone any inconvenience

No - I'm sure vast packs of S's will be upon us soon enough and everyone will be hunting elusive A's, so happy to take an A while I can!
Thanks for the info though, so an S tomorrow (probably)!!

Are there weekend paths for S-Stock or is it just 'as and when depending on drivers and Neasden Depot' ?
