Good evening in the end, lacking a bit of something I felt but it was very interesting. I gave up on taking photos seeing as others were taking so many nice shots. RIP 67TS.

Have claimed for a refund from TfL for the delay outside Vauxhall - so may have got paid for the trip too!

Have claimed for a refund from TfL for the delay outside Vauxhall - so may have got paid for the trip too! Depends which delay it was - if it was on the earlier trip this was due to a defective 09 stock, but I think the one that caused the longer delay was due to a passenger incident also at Vauxhall. In theory you aren't entitled to a refund for that -- and in any case without having counted, I don't think it was as long as 15 mins.

Here are my pics, although because the last 1967 was late arriving at Victoria heading northbound (should have been there at about 4:30 but wasn't until 4:45), I only got to stay on it for one stop and it was absolutely heaving! There's a short vid of it arriving at Victoria too. I *think* I saw Metman just as it was pulling out of Green Park, though it was so crowded I couldn't be sure. Interesting that despite there being a 15-minute gap between trains at the beginning of the rush hour on the most crowded line and being at probably one of the top two or three stations on the entire network, a "Good Service" was still being proclaimed. www.flickr.com/photos/londonstuff/sets/72157627089226172/

The cumulative delays getting from Victroria to Brixton on the last SS-Brixton trip were definitely more than 15 minutes. The last train left Brixton about 1918 and it was meant to leave at 1901.

Was a thoroughly good send off yesterday. Even got to see Peter Hendy himself in 3059!

Arrived at KX just in time to see it leave n/b for gthe penaultimate time (although the schedule said it should already have been at SS by then). After waiting for it to come back, rode it as far as Victoria. Why does the headboard say "March 1969 to July 2011". Do they know something we don't? Will it still be running after midnight tonight? The original plan was for the last services to run today (friday) but the transport commissioner was unable to make Friday, so it was moved to the Thursday. It also makes Boris look good, as he said they'd be gone by July, and the went before July, albeit just a few hours! Would just like to take this opportunity to commend LU for marking the occasion. 1697TS - September '68-June '11 - Rest In Peace old friends.

When will the regen breaking be switched on? The first of them will have it switched on today, with the whole fleet expected to be completed by Tuesday.

All the 8 runs that I managed to cram in were really good, the whole event was something that was recognised as London loosing a part of its Heritage dissapearing, even if we still have 72ts.

That was a great send off last night. I even enjoyed the delay after Pimlico, it allowed more time to be spent on the train! Here's my photos of the day: www.flickr.com/photos/16299801@N03/I felt a bit flat going back to Victoria afterwards so it was Iron Maiden on the ipod to drown out the sounds of the 09.

Wouldn't we have to wait for the last 67's removal before the regen turns on? Or are they going from the depot by road?

Wouldn't we have to wait for the last 67's removal before the regen turns on? Or are they going from the depot by road? I spoke to the man responsible for the tube upgrade, and somebody from Northumberland Park who told me it would be completed by Tuesday at the latest. I'm guessing this means that the last units will move by road, or during the engineering possessions this weekend. If anyone knows anything about the moves, please let me know, as I am desperate to see one in the open.

When will the regen breaking be switched on? As stated before on this board, it has always been switched on. The change is to raise the limit from 675V to 790V. About 30 trains are done currently, will complete by next week.

1697TS - September '68-June '11 - Rest In Peace old friends. They're not quite as old as 1697! But they first ran in passenger service in February 1968, not September, as they were run-in on the Hainault-Woodford shuttle. (That line had been converted to ATO as a test bed, using the small 1960 stock fleet which had been converted specially.) I recall that 1967 stock often appeared on the shuttle in the 1970s. I'm not sure whether this was maintenance cover, or because the 1960 stock (or, more specifically, their pre-war trailer cars) were getting clapped out by then. Only three of the eight units of 1960 stock were given replacement 1938 stock trailers. I understand the 1967 stock had to be fitted with high lift shoegear to allow its transfer - although Woodford and Walthamstow Central are only about three miles apart, the only way to transfer the trains was via Ealing Broadway
