Are you the man in the centre of this pic: www.flickr.com/photos/15265256@N03/5723598508Will this do: www.flickr.com/photos/15265256@N03/5722380307I also saw an A stock passing through a train wash (and it needed it, its last four carriages were grubby) and an A stock looking as if its face had been lathered. I wasn't happy that I didn't get to see the 1967 stock alongside an S stock. Also, I went to Finsbury Park to get a picture of the train on its return journey, thinking it would come in the Piccadilly line platform, only to hear it lurch into the Victoria line platform. I thought the connection back the Victoria line was after Finsbury Park. Not before. Also, when the train pulled out, it whistled. I wonder if it was whistling at me, because I had my camera out. Come to think of it, can the whistle be blown at the back even though the driving is being done at the front? The whistle was constantly being blown as the train was leaving Seven Sisters after the tour had finished, the video I'm trying to upload proves this. As does mine at the end... they began right when it started leaving all the way into the tunnel, made for a nice send off to be honest.

I personally think that the '67 trip has been a strong technical experience for my eventual computer generated production of the rolling stock, not to mention the opportunity to gather much needed proportion details and textures of the cab in RAW format (so I can adjust the lighting when I go through them on Photoshop, maybe tomorrow because I'm sleepy). Not just the excitement of the '67 stock making an escape from the tunnel in passenger service since the Woodford shuttle era.
As I travelled to the start point under PAYG, I also managed to save a few pounds and avoid the risk of the Oyster maximum cash fare issue because station staff told me that I didn't have to "touch in" for the trip: I mean, I touched out at Seven Sisters from Arnos Grove then entered with the charter train ticket, and then when I bailed out at Ealing Broadway to get the Holborn exterior photoshoot, I touched back in for Central line to Holborn, before heading back to Archway after the picture.
The TfL staff were pretty enthusiastic: the Piccadilly line driver ahead of the returning charter train knew exactly what I was waiting for at Holborn. I'm sure it also amused a lot of tourists both ways, since of course the Piccadilly line passes by a lot of tourist attractions. The charter train gave me a poignant salute as it entered the tunnel, as it did to a number of photographers that the train passed.
As for the souvenirs, I bought the lowest numbered plate, 3010. I guess that's why in the last few months the trains had vinyl stickers in place of plates.
Oh, and I did see Mr. Doyle about station publicity of the last of the last last days of the '67 (Wal. Central then the Final Day). The idea is to get as many people who are familiar with the line, from everyday commuters to old timers, to give one more thought to the trains that served them well.

What a great day that was! It was good to see so many staff getting sneaky shots on their mobiles as we went past! I was in Car 4 and we had journalist and photographer asking questions and snapping away all the way to Uxbridge. I can't remember what publication it was though.

I was exceptionally happy to see 3022-4022-4122-3122 for sale as my first ever UndergrounD ride was on 3122, many more years ago than I care to remember. I bought the set. Top day out. Shame it'll never happen again.

It sounds like a good time was had by all. I just wish I could have been there. I'll move heaven and earth to be on whatever happens on the MET on June the 12th!

Just a note to say that I have forwarded the coments from here regarding yesterdays tour to Peter Neal and John Doyle. I'm glad you enjoyed your day out. As soon as I get any details on the last one, I'll post on here asap.

It was good to meet you then Sea Eagle Yes, very much so - hope you enjoyed the day also. Believe me I enjoyed it, plus I had the honour of being one of the drivers on the tour, (and I needed the link between Vic & Pic at FP!). Would have liked to have spoken to more people, but those metal numberplates were going so quickly I didn't get a chance. Unfortunatly my days of driving 67's are now numbered, but all being well the weekend of 28/29th should see plenty of 67 action.

Who was driving on the last stretch from Barons Court to Seven Sisters? I was up front for most of the home stretch and witnessed the train being code tripped as it went over the Finsbury Park crossover ;D

Well they took me a flippin long time to sort out, edit and upload... You can find the best 233 images (of the 800) that I captured yesterday HERE on my Flickr site... and what a wonderful day it was. Great company, fantastic LU staff and great humour all round. Full credit to LU and an excellent charity ( RAILWAY CHILDREN) that was supported... I hope that the outing raised a healthy amount! I've got my number plate and my wife Mel now has an Underground bag... Sadly there were still a few wallies around (fortunately in the minority) using flash ... please stop and learn how to control your cameras which will, as a result, help you capture better images

Here I am again: www.flickr.com/photos/cjw2/5726452566/in/set-72157626733643334 (wearing the blue shirt and standing near the staircase) ! I've hopefully now uploaded all of my videos (photographs ready by the end of the week - all being well!); they can be viewed at: streetlightonline.co.uk/Tube/67Farewell/index.htm. If you head back to the main Victoria line page, there are also three videos of 2009 Stock - my first time using them! Fingers crossed that the videos work now - some are 'slightly' on the large size, but shouldn't pose a problem to most modern connections...

I have finalised the photo of John Doyle in action in Car No.1. That's the gentleman I saw him over the last day celebrations. www.flickr.com/photos/jaggers/5727490002The rest of the photos as they come in will appear on my main photostream.

Good that he was on it, it shows that not only enthusiasts will miss the 67's Indeed, he had a really good day himself as I overheard him talking to someone else at Ealing B/W how good everyone had been and what a success the day had been!
