Is there a move on Monday? Any idea the units involved?

Noticed tonight 5120 has been uncoupled from 5090 and 5120 is now with 5034, could 5090 be the next candidate?

You never know, it still has something going for it in being double-ended, not that it stopped 5233 or 5059 going to the chop early (I didn't mention 5064, 5066 because they were either burnt out or generally not in a good way).

I'm not sure what will go next. Saw 5203 and 5034 about earlier (see formation reports) but there could be so many other that could be up for the chop Whatever happens, the double enders will soon start to go, when this happen the end will be soon. The S stock clearly isn't all that as a recently delivered train packed up earlier - I was on it (see S stock thread!)

I would guess, judging by when it went, that 5058/9 was also not well. Wasn't the late 5086/7 also a double-ender? I can't remember...

5086 was the last single ended A60 unit. 5058 was either defective or had an early last overhaul.

That was 5059 and all. I remember looking at it on Bengley's flickr.

Gawd - yes it is I agree! It really is so sad seeing that! Having lived "Down South" for 8 years now and being used to always travelling on the A's into London seeing them like that is definately sad. I think to sum it up for many.....it's not just a train, it's personal memories too.

Is it just a conincidence that no units in the range 5088-5122 (i.e. the "newer" A60s) have been scrapped yet?

No, it's because they're double-enders and consequently had late last programme lifts.

They are also de-icing units so were required last winter. Sad to see 5044 and 5153 go. I liked 5044.

I need to be with her on her last trip Apologies to Dickens: "It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known." Steady on Metman old son. A worthy sentiment perhaps but in the end it's only a train. Following it to the guillotine isn't really worth it!

I only wanted to ride her one last time. I see the depth of feeling engendered when change takes place and as a result, whilst I can't understand it myself, you have my sincere condolences. Only a few more left to go now and the pain will be over.
